(A/N)Hey, loves! As always, make sure to leave me some love on this chapter and vote if you can! It means so much to me to have my story out there and thank you to anyone who has read it/continues to read it! I've been thinking about writing from Jungkook's perspective as well, so let me know if that's something y'all would be interested in. ❤︎
You woke up on Friday morning, still reeling from yesterday's events. It was so hard to believe that it wasn't just a dream or some wild fantasy that you had conjured up in your head. The events kept replaying over and over again in your mind like a scene from a movie. It felt almost too good to be true.
Reluctantly, you managed to part with the sweet embrace of your pillow and went into your modest kitchen to make breakfast. Your apartment was pretty small, but you were a college student, after all. You didn't mind much because it was a space suited for one person.
I guess it's a good thing that I don't have any friends, then.
They wouldn't have been very comfortable and you would have been a bit ashamed to bring them there. Your parents contributed some money every so often, but you were working overwhelming hours practically every day in order to keep yourself afloat and still pay the rent on time.
You opened the door to your fridge, retrieving some strawberries that you bought a few days prior. Making your way over to the couch, you plopped down and began to eat.
I'm really not supposed to do this.
What was he talking about? Supposed to be doing what, exactly?
Maybe he has a girlfriend or something and she's really jealous?
You'd been wondering about his comment for a while, ever since he got up off of the bench the night before. It plagued you because something about it just didn't seem right. His body language was stiff, like he knew that he was making a mistake. You began to contemplate whether you should even reach out or not when your phone started buzzing. Your heart skipped a beat as you reached for it.
Oh.
"Hi, mom."
You tried to put on your happiest voice so that she couldn't tell how miserable you were. You weren't sure what you were expecting because he had none of your contact information, but you were somehow still hopeful that it would be the mysterious brunette.
Jungkook.
"Hello, dear! I feel like it's been so long since we've actually had a real conversation. So tell me, how are things? I want to hear all about it!"
Your mother sounded so genuinely excited that it actually broke your heart a little. How in the world could you let her down by exposing her to the harsh, lonely reality that was your life? You couldn't. You wouldn't.
"Things have been great mom! I've met a few people at work, we're actually going to get some drinks later and just hang out. Do you think I could call you back though? I was kind of in the middle of something before you called..."
You felt terrible for leaving your mom hanging like that, but you just couldn't bear to lie so many times in one phone call. It was hard enough tricking her into thinking that you had any friends in the first place. You didn't want to worry her. You had enough going on without her concern falling on your shoulders as well.
"Oh sure, honey. I'm so glad that you've finally made some friends! Just call back when you can, okay? I miss you and love you so much!"
Your mom gushed as if she were living through you.
Luckily, she isn't.
"Okay mom, I love you too. Bye."
You attempted to keep up your positive facade and then you heard a click on the other line. You tossed your phone onto the coffee table and let out a sigh of frustration.
You know what? I'm just gonna do it. I'm gonna email him. What do I really have to lose at this point anyway?
You retrieved your laptop from your bedroom and logged onto your email. You then began to think about what exactly you wanted to say. You just needed someone to confide in, and he offered, so why not?

Hey, Jungkook. This is Ella. I'm not sure if you remember me but you gave me your email and I really needed to talk to someone. I just got off of the phone with my mom and I lied to her. I know that I shouldn't have done it, but I just felt so ashamed of the fact that I'm not living up to her expectations. To be honest, I'm not living up to my own either. She thinks that I actually have friends here and that I've built a nice life for myself, which couldn't be further from the truth.
Anyway, I shouldn't be so selfish. How are you doing? I feel like I don't even know anything about you, besides your name of course. Tell me about yourself, I would really love to know.
-Ella :)
You hit the "send" button with so much force that you thought you almost broke your laptop. You were amazed how easily the words just flowed out of you. It felt so natural talking to him, even if it was just through your computer screen. You wondered when he would respond, but you didn't want to get too excited waiting either.
Deciding that it was best to get out of the apartment for a while, you grabbed your gray tote bag and threw a random cardigan from your tiny closet over your shoulders. You closed the door behind you and began your journey without a destination.
----
By the time you opened your apartment door, it was a little later than midnight. After you went out to dinner alone, you ended up going to one of the local bars in Gangnam alone as well. It was something that you didn't want to make a habit of, but you did it every so often in hopes of meeting people.
In other words, you were pretty drunk.
Stumbling, you locked the door and hopped into bed with your laptop. You immediately logged on to check your email, your heart beating so fast that it could have exploded inside of your chest.
