"Yeah, most of it. What I do remember doesn't make much sense to me though." I explained to them my feeling of guilt for something I had no recollection of and the confusion of waking up.
Elizabeth looked like she was close to tears. "That's awful! I can't imagine losing my memories and wake up feeling like that!"
I looked down toward my plate. I haven't touched any of the food, and now it was almost cold. Well, I can't let it go to waste. Using the fork, I picked up a couple bits of egg, only to have Ban take it from me.
"Elizabeth made this. You're going to feel worse after you eat it. Let me go make you something better," Ban said. I started after him with my mouth hung open, eyes wide with longing
"My food..."
"Trust me, it's better this way." Ban cleared the plate from in front of me. "Master! I've got some scraps for you!"
There are more people here?
"Scraps already? Today's becoming my lucky day!" a voice called. Into the room came a large pink pig, immediately heading over to the plate Ban had put on the floor before heading into the kitchen area. "Oh! You're awake! How are you feeling?" the pig asked.
I started, jumped out of my seat. There was a flash of light, blinding everyone for a split second, before it faded away, revealing a sword falling out of thin air close to my hand. The next thing I knew I was holding it, pointing it at the pig.
Images flashed through my mind.
The scarlet-haired woman with her sword against mine.
Red glowing versions of my sword flying towards glowing orbs and monsters.
My sword pointed at the throat of a dark haired boy.
"Stop this!"
The pig squealed in terror, running behind the counter by Ban. Everyone else just started at me. Elizabeth's eyes were full of confusion, but Meliodas and Ban just looked indifferent.
I, in the other hand, was very bewildered about what just happened.
Relaxing, I stared at the sword in my hand in confusion. "How...did I just do that?"
Meliodas moved his hand in a knowing gesture. "I sensed you had magic. You most likely forgot about it."
Elizabeth nodded. "Right! You probably did!"
"So you're not going to dice me up into little pork-sized bites?" the pig asked, peering around the corner.
"No, I don't think I even meant to summon this anyway. It just happened when I got startled."
"Well, that could have just told us a lot about who you were before you lost your memories," Meliodas said. I looked over at him. "The way your body reacted to being surprised makes me think you were a fighter, not to mention the armor we found you in. You most likely used that sword you summoned, seeing as that was what you subconsciously called for. It probably feels more natural to you. It's like you were some sort of knight."
"A knight?" I glanced at the sword in my hand again.
Meliodas put a finger on his chin. "Your magic does seem different though. It's likely you're not from Britannia. Do you remember anything about where you lived?"
Britannia? That name doesn't really sound familiar. So then where did I live? I shook my head. "No."
