Fire

All I see are stars,

I feel fire on my scars.

My cheeks turn red hot,

I think I might just stay here and rot.

I feel like I'm on fire, burning bright,

Resting in the day, sizzling through the night.

Darkness is all I see,

It begins to overwhelm me.

Dizzy and confused as sparks fly,

I'm so happy that they never ask why.

Then I feel water, cool and deadly,

The person backs away steadily.

I feel myself hiding away, dying down,

They see the fake smile, but never the frown.

Drifting through the spring wind, tired and lonely.

Craving someone's warm touch, someone to hold me.

That's until I realise I've been extinguished,

I've finally seen that my life has finished.
