I raise my shovel ready for more of those dead people to roll in jaws snapping, my chest is heaving and my arms ached from swinging the shovel at the soft skulls of the flesh eaters. I shake a chunk of rotted flesh off my shovel, I gaze up at the sunset sky wondering what I would be doing if the world didn't end, but it has, and I needed to get back to home. I quickly sneak past a bunch and push my bamboo gate open an quietly closing after myself, I head for the front door swinging it open and closing it after me. I make my way to the radio which it could only play my type of music.
"That should be good!" I finish barricading the house and place the hammer on the table, I look at the fading light outside, then to a tall gumtree. I turn back to now, where I am. I walk calmly to the bedroom and block the door off with a wardrobe as entered. I lay in the bed wondering if I'm going to be here tomorrow. Will I? I thought and turned in the bed. I thought many things that night, mostly about survival.
What now?
Am I jut going to die or hunger or thirst?
Or be bitten by those mangy excuse for bag of flesh? Will I end up like Kyle?
I give a shutter and got up from bed.
There is only one option, try, try to live this sad pathetic life that drags you down and you know that you'll be the person in the group who gets bit that one time. I push the wardrobe across to see nothing, I guess the barricade did well, I thought. I made my way to the kitchen and opened a can of bake beans by Heinz. I scoop a spoonful into my mouth.
But I don't know what now.
Gun shots echoed into the bright dawn sky, civilisation?
People?
Help?
Survival!
