Camila nibbled anxiously on her bottom lip as she tried on endless bikinis, throwing them all aside in frustration as she inspected every single aspect about them. Too bright... too dark! Too revealing... not revealing enough! Oh god does my butt look too big? No... I'm gonna flaunt my butt! Her internal monologue was racing with thoughts, as she continuously eyed the clock in the corner of her hotel room as she minutes until the pool party slipped softly away.

"Sof... what do you think of this one?" Camila finally sighed, turning towards her sister who was half asleep on her own bed, however, as soon as the older girl spoke Sofia's little head perked up excitedly.

"I love it! You look really pretty!" She said honestly, and a shy grin spread across the older sisters face. It was 12 at night and her sister still continued with the same adorable bursts of energy that she always had throughout the whole day.

"Thanks baby!" Camila chuckled, walking over the her sisters bed and planting a tender kiss on her hand. "Bye Mom! Bye Dad" Camila yelled to her parents, who were gazing at the stars on the balcony.

It didn't take long to walk down to the pool, but as soon as she did, Camila's heart instantly began pounding. What the hell was she doing? Walking into a party where she barely knew anyone... the only person she had talked to was a complete stranger for about five minutes! The small girl began to fiddle nervously with the straps on the bottom half of her bikini, considering going back to her room, when suddenly, she gazed at the illuminated, turquoise water of the still pool and felt her body stop trembling slightly.

The atmosphere was alive. Beautiful people dancing around to the quick tempo of the lively music, their skin glinting brightly in the moonlight. Drinks were being poured, laughter was in the air and Camila felt herself grin. But she was on her own. The small girl edged around groups of people who were chatting animatedly, feeling like a lost, little puppy, until she ended up gazing into the clear, still water of the empty swimming pool.

Suddenly, a pair of hands on her waist. Camila gasped as the cool, smooth hands spun her body around, her hair whipping in the warm air. A loud, excited voice. "Boo!" Camila burst into a fit of giggles as she suddenly found herself eye to eye with a pair of twinkling, jade green orbs. Lauren had surprised her, creeping up behind her and spinning her quickly around... so fast that the small girl's head span. The pair were teetering on the edge of the illuminated pool, as their hearts pounded quickly... in unison. Ivory skin met golden caramel. Forest green eyes met melted chocolate.

"Lauren! I'm gonna fall!" Camila spluttered, her heart racing as she leaned precariously over the shimmering water, only the strength of the girl who was clinging onto her stopping her from plunging into the topaz blue liquid. The small girl had never been so close to someone. Their lips were manometers apart, and Camila's heart skipped a beat as Lauren's warm breath wafted across her face, tenderly tickling her flushed cheeks. Their contrasting eyes melted into one another, and their dark hair began to mingle. Adrenaline pulsed like wildfire through the small girl's veins, and although it was a 30 degree summer night, she felt ice cold goose pimples prickle across her clammy skin.

Suddenly.
An over-exaggerated dance move.
A vigorous bump on Lauren's shoulder.
Both girls screamed in exhilarated fear.
They began to fall.
The smack of the fresh water.
A gulp of air.
SPLASH!

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" An apologetic yet amused face was gazing at her from the poolside as Camila's tanned face broke through the crisp surface of the pool. "I didn't mean to push you both in... I just got too excited and I didn't even know you were there!" The boy rambled nervously, and Camila have him a dismissive wave in apology.

"I don't mind being in the pool." A raspy voice next to her suddenly mumbled, and Camila glanced to her right side to see Lauren, even more beautiful as she was completely soaked. The moonlight glinted gently from the droplets of silver liquid clinging to her pale skin, and her wet hair clung tightly to her shoulders, dyed as black as the night by the water. Their moment was suddenly broken when Camila felt a pair of strong arms suddenly yank her from the shallow water of the calm pool, as a group of drunk boys decided to retrieve both girls from the tranquil waters.

"Free drinks for you two! First in the pool always get free drinks!" One of the boys suddenly bellowed, his words slightly spurred by the alcohol.

Camila felt a glass being forced into her moist palm, and when she glanced down, she felt a grin spread across her cheeks when she saw a brightly coloured cocktail, embellished with a succulent strawberry and a mini umbrella stuck to the side of the glass.

She took a large swig of the sweet, strong drink.
