After the cremation was done it was already starting to get dark outside. The group under the lead of Momma Kay decided spend the night in town under the pleasure of a bonfire, with a good self made brew and some freshly hunted boar. It looked like everyone had already forgotten about the events that happened just this morning. Music was playing people where telling funny stories, singing jolly songs and just having fun. Well everyone except for Sloan.

After dinner, Sloan had gone back to his grandparents farm. The farm where he lived his whole life so far. He went and made one more round trough the chicken coups collecting the eggs, he milked the cows for one last time. Who was going to take care of them? In a town where no one lives.

Momma Kay found him laying there in the hay, looking at the starry sky. “Is there something that bothers you?” Momma Kay asked him. “The animals, who will take care of them when I’m gone? Now everyone else is gone”.

Momma Kay just looked at him and smiled. “You don't think we are gonna leave them behind do you? We can use the chickens and cows for their eggs milk an meat. What we don't need we can sell to the farms along the way. Now get some sleep boy we have a long road ahead of us”.

The next morning Sloane was up earlier then normal. After he finished feeding the animals he quickly finished packing and put everything in his trailer.

He span his grandparents horses in front of them and agreed with one of the carnival girls to ride his trailer. In the meantime he saddled his own horse that he got his last name day. It was a beautiful stallion, the biggest you've ever seen and his black hair was even darker than his shadow. He named him Nebula.

Together they rode in the back of the caravan following the sun on their journey to tomorrow.

After the carnival has been on the road for over 14 hours Sloane his eyes started to drift off.

Suddenly he saw black smoke coming out of the forest. Black smoke, that means there is a fire. He thought by himself. He rode to the front where Momma Kay was with her rider. “There is black smoke in the forest on our right” he yelled “I will go first to check it out you guy's can follow me later”.

He rode of with Nebula only to find a year supply of burning hay. An old man and his two young daughters where running like crazy trying to put out the fire with a bucket of water at the time.

Sloane looked around seeing what he could do to help them. He saw a large watermill along the deep river just behind the farm. Sloane took a piece of rope and bind it between Nebula and the mills water slide. He let Nebula pull as hard as he could to change the direction of the water slide. Piece by piece the slide moved until it was right above the land. The water flooded the land just to make it's way to the stack of burning hay. Slowly the fire went out until all that remained was the faint smell of fire. “Well that was a mess you guys got yourself in” Sloane said. The old man explained that it was not his fault, but the bandits that came to rob him every other day and he didn't have anything to give him this time.

Not long after that Momma Kay arrived with the rest of the carnival. Sloane wanted to introduce the old man, but then realized he didn't knew his name. “Well I'm Sloane and this is Momma Kay she and you are?” The old man said “I am Varney and these are my daughters Aina and Aleen. Your man just saved my house please all come inside for dinner I don't have much but I wouldn’t mind sharing.

Sloane turned to Momma Kay, “We need to help them. They are being terrorized by some local thugs, who come looting them every other day.” “Quiet” Momma Kay yelled “What do you think why we have chosen this path. We, I mean you are here to help them. You will need the people of the lands in the future. We can't let anything happen to them they are your future.”
