I lived in an old mansion, free of charge. Can you believe that, me living in a mansion, no expense spared? It  wasn't very nice but it was still a roof over my head. I only found this place three months ago. This place had supplies lying all over the place. I even cut my hair with a pair of scissors I found here. I looked at the in the bathroom mirror that I cleaned up when I got here a while back. Two years back I would have seen a cheerful kid with wavy brown hair surrounded by his friends look back. I still saw that child in the mirror but he was covered in dirt and with no more friends.

I sighed, I really missed my friends. Now the only people I talked now were shady people that I needed something from. Suddenly I heard something downstairs, or someone. I grabbed my gun and walked stealthily out of my room. The stairs were a crumbling mess but they were still strong enough to take my weight. I looked from behind the wall down the stairs, four people walking up the stairs. "Alright put your hands up, please" I said as I emerged from behind the wall. I was shocked at what I saw.

It was four kids wearing gas masks, two girls and two boys. From their height they were around 12 to 14 years old. I groaned,"Get out of here kids, you guys shouldn't be here". The girl in front of the group had generally pale skin, brown hair, light blue eyes and was wearing a slightly oversized winter looking jacket. The two boys behind her looked somewhat similar to each other, wearing similar looking jackets and gas masks. The other girl had a slightly darker tone to her skin and wasn't wearing a jacket like the others and had something behind her back. Probably something to throw at me.
The seemingly leading the group suddenly spoke, "Let us go, we were only looking for a place to stay". The others nodded in agreement. "Well, this is my place not yours, so get out", I said gesturing with the gun to get out.

Just then, someone started banging against the door. Frantically banging. "Oh no", I sighed. I calmly walked by them to the door. I looked through the space between the doors and then shot a hole in the it. I could see that the others were shocked, I liked that. I opened the door to find a dead woman. "Did you guys know that the virus does this to you too?".  "This is a very rare occurrence, it only happens to the most unlucky. The virus would turn you aggressive like a man with rabies", I explained.

"Now to the matter at hand, please get out of my home", I said. "No, please let us stay for the night", the same girl said. "And why would I do that?", I asked. "We'll give you anything, just please let us stay for just one night", she begged. I hated this. So much. But I felt bad, she reminded me of myself. I pondered this for a moment. "Fine, I'll let you and you're friends stay, just for one night but first, let me see what you have in you're backpacks", I said. I wasn't going to let them stay here for free, right?
