As The Plague started during flu season, biologists and doctors assured the public that this new illness was just a mutated strain of the flu and usual flu vaccines that were distributed via schools, hospitals and health clinics would suffice; they were right, it did suffice, but not for long. The first to fall ill due to resistance from Antibiotics and flu vaccines were children, the elderly and the disabled.
152 days in:
The U.N. Soon realised that The Plague was a lot more than, 'just a mutated strain of the flu.' Although the government acknowledged The Plague's dangerous nature, they decided it would be a good idea to keep this knowledge from the general populous. Poorer areas with less health-care were quarantined off from the rest of the country.
213 days in:
The first death. It was recorded on the 23rd of September, 2016 in Bath outside of Bristol.
From this point, over 60% of the British population was infected. And now The Plague had mutated so that it could control its host after death. People started to rise from the dead, but the government didn't give up yet. An airborne vaccine was created in the main facility building for the VPAOB (Virus Protection Agency Of Britain) located in Monmath.
Day 304:
The vaccine was futile; in fact, it rapidly sped up the mutation process of The Plague. It caused rapid cellular growth in all living things.
Quickly, Monmath city was covered in dense foliage and mutated organisms, including Humans and Animals.
The governments stability crashed and the country fell into anarchy. The dead were rising at an exceedingly fast paste, and there was nothing anyone could do. The last resort plan was now being taken into account. 1 hydrogen bomb was launched and set off in Greater London to try and stem the flow of the virus, but that didn't work.
1 year:
All of what used to be was gone. Some would say that The Plague was the Devine Retribution for all of the sins the Human Race had performed.
Now, the earth could cleanse its lungs from the cancer that were The Humans.
The few that remain must rebuild and learn from the mistakes that their predecessors committed
