"Hey. Isn't that Vanessa Mae Gordon?"

"Ohh yeah! I heard they own the number one hotels in the world! She had won many academic competitions. I also heard that she will be the heir of their company. Since she was young she was always capable of doing anything."

"She's also really pretty, she lives in a different world than us."

"She's the elite of the elite. She's too out of reach to become friends with."

"I envy her."

Vanessa looked at them and thought that they we're also from rich families and no different from her. She always wonder why everybody was so jealous of her.

Life wasn't easy for her. Since she was young she was just always with maids and bodyguards. She has no friends and her parents was always out of the country. She have to live up with many responsibilities. Because she is an only child she needs to be smart, reliable, wise and always need to be flawless. Every flaw that she will make can be used against her.

She always thought that why isn't she happy even though she almost have everything. She feels empty inside.

" Miss Vanessa your dad said to meet him in the principal's office." It was Vanessa's bodyguard Ricardo. Ricardo had served their family for 10 years now.

"Thanks Ricardo." Vanessa said with a smile. Even though Vanessa was confused why her father called her. She usually only meet her father in dinners and parties. But she went anyway because it was probably something important.

'Knock knock.' Vanessa knock on the principal's office's door.

"Come in." Vanessa knew it was her father's voice. So she came in.

"Dad."

"Vanessa I need to tell you something."

Vanessa was confused. At the tone of her dad's voice she knew it was not a good news.

"What is it dad?"

" Your grandmother is in a really bad state..." A tear came out of her father's eyes. And before she noticed she was crying too. She didn't know what to say to her dad. The only thing that came out of her mouth was "I'm sorry."

She remembered her grandmother when she was young. Her grandmother was the one who thought her how to play the piano and how to sing. And also the promise she made with her grandmother.

"Vanessa you have to come back to the philippines your grandmother is asking for you there. You'll study at a prestige school to continue your studies here. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna be there."

"I understand dad."

"Your flight will be tonight. You may leave."

Vanessa knew she didn't have a choice but to come back to the philippines...
