Aomine Daiki x reader - The accident

Summary: Aomine's s/o has an accident and they are taken to hospital.

The moment he sees how his s/o gets hit by a car the world stands still. There are no words to describe how he felt in this moment. How much he feared for them, how much panic arise inside of him. Without wasting a second he runs towards them as fast as he could. Alarmed, he screams their name but they didn't answer because they're unconscious. Aomine barley noticed how someone call the emergency as he looked at his s/o with his widen eyes full of tears. It doesn't feel like reality it was more like a dream for him. A nightmare which will be over soon.

But the nightmare didn't stop.

The doctors needed to do an emergency operation right after his s/o's unconscious body reached the hospital. Obviously, he wasn't allowed to watch the operation. Therefore, he was forced to wait for hours to get to know if the surgeons had managed to save their life. Every seconds seemed to be endless. The worst case dominated in his head all the hours, he already saw himself standing on his s/o's grave. Just the thought of never being able to talk to them again makes him cry uncontrollably.

He walked up and down nervously as one of the surgeons Aomine noticed from when he arrived in the hospital approached him, his heart beat faster than ever before. In this moment he forgot how to breathe and he wasn't able to form a single rational thought. The fear of getting a bad message ate him up from within and it felt like it would destroy him with ease. Only when the surgeon began to smile, Aomine was able to breathe again. After said surgeon told him his s/o has survived the operation, he immediately run to them to be by their side when they awake.

And here Aomine is now. Sitting by their side on a chair right next to their bed. He holds their left hand with both of his, looking at them with a hurtful expression. Even a month after their operation his s/o just doesn't wake up. No doctor knows why. There is no reason why they didn't gain conscious once more. Without a doubt it's understandable that Aomine is beyond desperate. Everything he wants is his s/o to wakes up. They left him alone far too long and he really doesn't know how much longer he can survive without them.

The only thing he can do is to visit his s/o every day after school but most of the time he doesn't even go to school. Right now they have more priority. Most of the time he holds their hands while he tells them about his day, about Momoi annoying him and basketball. After that he often reads to them.

Actually, he always denied reading to them because he doesn't even like to read alone and much less reading out loud to them but now he does it without a second thought. He remembered that his s/o likes (favorite book type) book. So he went to a store and bought one which sounded somehow interesting. The two of them are already at page 180. The doctors told him there is a chance his s/o will hear him even if they are in a coma, therefore he's willing to sacrifice much time to speak to them in one way or another, Aomine knows that he doesn't have the best read out voice but his s/o always said they love to hear his beautiful voice. For this reason he will continue to read the book to them until they finish it in hopes they can hear him and that he comforts them.

In his opinion he did make a lot of mistakes in the relationship. He wasn't always punctual on dates, he forgot some anniversary dates and he wasn't very romantic or put above average effort in their relationship and now he regrets this so much. He doesn't have the opportunity to make up for it anymore and he wishes he would be able to tell them how sorry he is, to tell them he will change from now on.

And now he's sitting next to them again. It hurts him to see his beloved girlfriend/boyfriend like this. There were bandages around their head, arms, belly and right knee. In addition, there are plenty of bruises and scratches all over their body. At this moment, Aomine can't hold back his tears. He wants his s/o back but they won't wake up. He lays his face in his hands hopelessly, he just doesn't know what to do anymore.

Currently, Aomine feels something on his arm. He needs a few seconds before he realizes what it was. He looks up to his s/o and his eyes widen. At this moment he can't get this is truly happening. But his eyes don't betray him, they are finally awake. It feels like a huge weight was lifted from him. The happiness he feels right now isn't describable. Intuitively he pulls them in a tight hug. However, he notices how tense they seem to be. He knows them for so long now he can exactly tell what's wrong. Aomine decides to free them from his hug.

Before he's capital to say anything, his s/o asks him confused:

"Who are you?"
