Hello again, Lovelies!!
A new book for you all! I hope you enjoy it!February 18th, 2012
10:51 AMDoctor's Note:
Although the patient Jeon Jungkook has showed promising signs of stability, he continues to remain unconscious due to his accident. He was involved in a head-on collision, one which resulted in a 4 car pile up and 4 deaths. Though his brain showed severe hemorrhaging, our newest surgery tactics have proved successful. Our staff has sent him home with Home Health providers. There is no telling when he will awaken from his coma, however, I remain hopeful. His brain has recovered well; all that's left is for him to regain consciousness.
End Note.
~Six Years Later~
The morning remained normal as ever until Jungkook's first feed of the day. The boy had been unconscious for the last 6 years due to head trauma, because of this, the family had no choice but to treat him as a vegetable. His body was fed through a G-Tube attached through his abdomen and into his stomach. His mouth was constantly covered with a breathing mask, and his motionless body was kept on a stretcher-like bed, just in case they needed to rush him to the hospital.
The family was allowed a group of Home Health nurses who provided for his needs every day, including bathing him, feeding him, and dressing him. Jungkook's mother well....after she found out about her son's misfortune, she thought it best to leave the country, leaving Jungkook behind in their house with all the money he could need.
Slowly the dark haired boy opens his eyes, feeling slightly nauseated, but more curious than ever. The mask around his face smelt of alcohol and bad breath- a mixture that didn't suit him well. Slowly he reaches for the mask, pulling it away from his face as takes in a deep breath of air.
Suddenly, an alarm begins to beep from the machine next to him. He remembers seeing one from movies, and when his father died. Multiple tubes run from the contraption and into his arms, something that he doesn't find entirely pleasant.
"Mr. Jeon?!" A man shouts as he runs through the house and into Jungkook's room.
The dark haired boy stares at the man in scrubs with dazed eyes, wondering why he's being so loud, and why the hell he's in his home.
"I can't believe you're awake! This is wonderful!" The man smiles at him before he pulls out his phone and dials a number, talking excitedly to the person on the other end of the line. Jungkook sighs and blinks, trying to force his vision into focus.
I know I've overslept in the past...but maybe I really overdid it this time. How long has it been? A couple days? No, mother would never give me that much peace. She would've woken me up ages ago. He chuckles to himself.
"Are you hungry?" The man chimes as he slides the phone back into his pocket. "We still have you attached to the feeding machine, so I'll have to feed you that way, but I'm sure anything is better than being hungry." The man smiles brightly before he walks to the other side of Jungkook, attaching a bag of something murky and disgusting looking onto a machine.
With wide eyes, Jungkook watches the tiny tubes from the bag fill with the vomit-looking substance.
"This will only take a second." The man explains as he lifts Jungkook's shirt, locating a small plastic device plunged into his abdomen.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Jungkook shouts in a groggy voice as he pushes the man's hands away.
"A-Aren't you hungry?" The nurse asks.
"Fuck yeah I'm hungry! But why the hell are you touching me like that?! Get away from me and get me some proper breakfast, not some backwash!" Jungkook shouts.
"But, you can't eat regularly yet. I mean, we have to build your stomach up to that kind of work again before we just feed you regular-"
"Where the fuck is my mom? And why the hell am I attached to all these tubes?!" He shrieks as he points desperately at the tubs in his arms.
"Oh..." The man's face suddenly turns white. "I guess this is the part where I tell you that you've been in a coma, huh?" The man chuckles. Jungkook finds his humor dry and incredibly annoying, so much so that he doesn't even acknowledge it. "Jeon Jungkook," The nurse begins, catching on to Jungkook's annoyance. "6 years ago you were involved in a car accident which caused your brain to swell and hemorrhage. Luckily, the medics got you to the hospital in time and we were able to perform a high-tech surgery on your brain that saved your life. However, you never woke up from sedation and ever since then, you've been in a coma."
"So....WHAT?!" Jungkook shouts, running his hands through his hair. "Are...Are you saying that I'm 26 right now?!" He screams.
"That's right. But please try to calm down. I understand that this is hard for you to comprehend, but don't worry, many times patients are able to recover from being in a coma."
"But..." Suddenly Jungkook feels as though he's going to cry. "How did it happen? I...I don't remember anything." He looks at the nurse with desperate eyes.
"The accident was caused by a drunk driver who hit into the car in front of you, giving you little time to stop your car, which resulted in you turning into the other lane and hitting the car coming straight at you."
The dark haired boy breathes deeply as he begins to panic. How did this happen?!
"I know that this is a lot to take in." The nurse continues. "But we will be here to take care of you and get you back onto your feet again." He smiles at the confused boy. "Also, a friend told me to give you his card once you woke up. Would you like it now?" He asks, standing to get it from the nightstand.
"No I...I don't want it-"
"I think it will help more than you think." He cuts me off, putting the card into my hand.
I roll my eyes and look at the small business card, my eyes nearly popping out of my head when I read the name on the front.
Park Jimin, Ph.D. in psychology and Mental Therapy
Tai 1234, BusanPersonal Phone: 654-5433
Business Phone: (644)564-3532So...he actually went and did it? Jungkook thinks to himself as he looks at the Ph.D. next to his friend's name...well...sort of his friend. They um....things got complicated 6 years ago....things that Jungkook has always been afraid to revisit.
"He offered to give you 6 free sessions. The doctors and I all agree that working with a friend might also help get you back on your feet again." The nurse explains as he takes a seat next to Jungkook. "He claimed that you and him used to be close. He seemed like a nice enough person."
Jungkook finds himself becoming less and less patient with the nosy nurse, and secretly wishes he would get fired, or reassigned to someone else so that he never has to hear his stupid voice ever again.
"If it's okay with you, I can give him a call." The nurses presses as he grabs for the phone in his pocket once again.
Gently Jungkook places the card down on his lap before smiling at the nurse. He waits for a moment until the man is holding his gaze before he finally speaks, his voice pleasant, but also cold and snappy.
"Get the fuck out of my house."
