Spencer

Her beautiful hair was cascading over her perfectly shaped shoulders...

"Spencer Miller." called the teacher. I looked up.

"Oh, uh, here." I called. I heard a couple of the girls giggle in the back, I glanced at them and smiled. I swear that I saw one of them swoon.

I hated the first day of school, but this was the last one, at least until college. That still seemed so far away. But this was my senior year, and I planned on making it my best one.

"Camellia Muler." called the teacher sitting down.

"Call me Lia." the girl in front of me said while raising her hand. Her name was so beautiful, why did she want to shorten it.

With having both of our last names start with "M" we had ended up in the same homeroom again, and hopefully some other classes. I had the biggest crush on her since we first met in 7th grade. Just my luck that she was the only girl in the entire school who didn't like me, even as a friend.

Lia

"Yeah, school!" I said sarcastically to my best friend Poppy when we met at the bus stop on the first day. The sun hadn't even risen yet at 7 o'clock.

"Now, now, Camellia, you being a nerd are supposed to love school." she said teasingly, and using my full name even though she knew I hated it. I honestly didn't even care anymore. This was my last year of public school.

Then I was going to leave this small, cold, town in Montana. I was going to go to Stanford College in sunny California where I was going to get a degree in medical science. I had always wanted to be a doctor since I saw my first episode of Doctor Who when I was 9.

Just then I noticed my boyfriend, Jayden, walking up the street with all of his skater boy friends. He was cute with almost black hair and gray eyes. I hadn't seen much of him this summer, he was always busy. Something about him seemed different, but I couldn't place it.

"Wassup." he said said putting his arm around my shoulder.

"School." I said being a smart ass but he didn't hear me over the roar of the bus as it pulled up to the curb. All the jocks were in the back goofing around, and in my opinion just making way too much noise.

I had made my way to homeroom and took a seat in the 3rd row by the window. I had calculated this as the best seat to take from my many previous years of school. The teachers called on me less when I sat here for some reason, which was strange because I was classified as the smartest kid in the school.

The teacher stated taking roll. That was when I realized that the sad excuse for a person, Spencer Miller, was in my homeroom again

"Oh, uh, here." he stammered. God, he was an idiot. "Lia," I thought "Just ignore the idiots and you will get through this year fine." Then the teacher called my name.

"Call me Lia." I said. I made sure to tell all my my teachers that because I just couldn't stand being called Camellia. I looked down at my schedule, I had Spanish next. I was happy to see I got Mr. Papino again, he was an awesome teacher. When the bell rang I stood up and headed over to the language wing. That's when I noticed that Spencer was following me, right into room C113. Fuck, last year we had like 5 classes together, as we had also had every other year before.

He was surprisingly smart for a baboon and had made all honors like me. I really hoped that he wasn't also taking all of the A.P. classes. Hopefully he was just going to stick with honors seeing as how the A.P. classes actually cost money.

Spencer

I was so excited when I realized that Camellia also seemed to be heading to the language wing like me. Maybe she had Mr. Papino with me again. I wanted to run up to her and check, but then I would look desperate. "No, Spencer," I told myself "what will happen will happen." and then she walked into room C113.
