Entering our high school was weird at night, since I was so used to being there only at the day. My eyes widened at all of the decorations and posters up, advertising the play. But I was extremely shocked to see that it was no longer the Shakespeare play that was promised.

I tugged on Michael's red sweatshirt. "Hey, I thought this was supposed to be A Midsummer Night's Dream?"

Michael squinted at the posters through the crowd of people entering.

"Yeah... It was. Mr. Reyes must have changed it, and we didn't have Jeremy around to tell us." He spoke hesitantly.

We continued to move up in the line of people, ready to hand in our tickets. Though as much as I tried, I couldn't shake suspicious feeling this night held. I stayed closer to Michael, holding his arm tight as we handed our tickets to Mrs. Maloney and walked inside the theatre room.

We managed to find seats close to the stage. I unknowingly ran a hand through my hair while sitting down.

"This doesn't feel right." I mumbled.

"I know." Michael replied, and reached for my hand to hold. Then the curtains opened.

Scene one went by quickly, for the play was actually enjoyable. Even despite Jeremy's role in it. Everyone's acting was impeccable. Perfect. Almost as if it was broadway ready, and I think everyone could agree. But that's what threw Michael and I off.

As the curtains closed he turned to me. "That was good."

"Too good." I nodded in agreement. "Something's not right."

Instantaneously faint shouts and screams were heard from back stage. I immediately recognized it as Jeremy's voice. I stood up along with Michael, eyes wide.

"We have to go backstage."

We held no hesitation running up to the front of the curtains, and through the backstage door. Michael's phone started ringing as we turned the door knob.

"It's Jeremy." He said, but put his phone back in his hoodie pocket. He grabbed my hand and sprinted up the stairs, dragging me along with him.

"This is not okay!" I yelled as walls blurred past me.

I pushed open the double doors and let Michael run through them first.

He threw his hand in the air as soon as he ran in and yelled, "Michael makes an entrance!"

I stood tall next to him, a goofy smile on my face at his actions.

"Michael! Mara!" Jeremy said from the ground, it looked as if he was pushed.

"I was just in the audience, thinking 'This is pretty good for a school play!'" Michael told him. "Then I was like... 'This is way too good for a school play!!!!'" He yelled.

"They've all been squipped, right?" I asked, coming to the realization.

"W-W-Wait, you came to see me in the play?" He asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"Even brought my own refreshments!" I let out a laugh as Michael pulled out the Mountain Dew Red from his sweatshirt pocket.
