Ashlyn's POV.
"Pregnant? How can I be pregnant?"
The Doctor smiled and said, "Well, When a male and female preform sexual intercourse and the sperm is...."
I cut him off, "Spare me the details, I'm 16 not stupid."
My mind was racing. I had no idea how I could be pregnant, except for Josh, that was the only way.
The doctor went into the back roon and came out with a wierd looking machine, "I can't be totally certain, but if you are willing to have an ultra sound, then I would be able to say for sure."
I let him preform his task, hoping to God that his theory was wrong. I had no idea how to look after a baby, I was only 16 and that wasn't an ideal age to raise a baby.
When the doctor wiped the wierd gell stuff off my stomach, and crushed my hopes, "Your definatly pregnant, and from what I could see your a few weeks along."
"How can that be, I only had sex for the first time a few days ago," it was a stupid thing to admit to a Doctor even though it was part of his job to listen to me.
The doctor just shrugged, and told me that I could leave.
*-*-*-*
I spent the rest of the day in a daze, everything around me going un-noticed. Chase was talking to me, asking me questions, but I was unable to answer. All text messages from Josh went ignored.
Around dinner time Josh came over to check on me, but I was unable to tell him, not without nowing that It was his child I was carrying. Josh had a look of distraut on his face, but everything that came out of his beautiful mouth was just an echo swirling around my mind, mixing into everything else.
I stayed that way until Josh left, then I was finally able to sleep.
Josh's POV.
Something was wrong with Ashlyn, that much I knew, and it had nothing to do with her stomach flu. She knew something she was keeping to herself, and whatever it was it had jolted her into a advanced stage of shock, not that I was any kind of Doctor.
For third time that week I walked into the house to find Andrew sitting in the hallway with a smile on his face, yet again waiting for me to come home. Just as he had done the other times he stood up, and asked, "Where were you?"
I looked at him, starting to get annoyed with these afternoon interogations, but answered him anyway to avoid a confrontation, "I was at Ashlyn's"
He nodded slowly, "I heard that she was sick, How's she doing?"
I knew that Andrew had no right to ask that question, and I shouldn't have given him an answer, but with Ashlyn not talking, or interacting with me, I didn't know who else to turn to talk to, And lots of people confided in their brothers, didn't they? "For some reason she's in shock, she'd not talking to anyone, she just sit's on her bed staring at nothing, she doesn't even eat."
Andrew just stood their for a while, then said "That sound's weird."
So much for brotherly advice. I let out a deep breath, then turned and ran up the stairs.
Something was going on with Ashlyn, and I wanted with all my mind to find out what it was.
Andrew's POV.
I stayed in the hall, long after Josh had escaped to his room, absorbing the information Josh had given me. Information I still couldn't quite believe he had given me.
Ashlyn was hiding something, something that was driving Josh crazy. What was driving me crazy was that they were still together. Both had disappeared over the weekend, and now they were the happy couple again. They had most definately spent that mysterious weekend together.
A smile cracked over my face. Ashly keeping secrets was a bad thing for her to be doing, and something she wouldn't usually do, so it ust be big. Hopefully big enough that Josh and herself will struggle to get through it, and at that time it would be perfect to launch plan B.
All I had to figure out was what had made her the way she is now, and use it as blackmail to get results I wanted. First, Where had she been before she had gone into shock?
Ashlyn had gone home sick from school, and from what I had heard she actually had been sick, so that only left one place for her to stop off, and that was the Doctor's office.
I knew Ash hated Doctor's, but there was no-way that she would have gone into shoch over it, so that would suggest that Doc had delived some bad new's to her, bad new's I knew exactly how to get to.
Picking up my phone I dialed the number of the most reliable person I knew, someone that was able to get any information that anyone need about who ever they liked, "Hey D, could you please get today's Doctors record for Ashlyn Harrison for me. And get back to me right away with the info?"
"Mind if I drop it over? I don't want to read through all the stuff."
The reason being the Idiot couldn't read for shit, "Sure, no problem, just hurry."
I flipped my phone shut, and walked into the lougne room, plopping down on the couch and fliping through the TV channels. Nothing caught my interest, but I didn't have to wait long befor ethe door bell rang.
D handed me the folder, then nodded and headed back to his car, taking off down the street.
I walked up the stairs into my room, shutting and locking the door, not wanting Josh to walk in, and the locked door wouldn't be sus to him, he would just think I was jacking off in here or something.
Sitting down in the desk chair, I opened the folder, and started scanning the contence, looking for anything useful.
What I found had me dropping the paper's, and staring straight ahead.
Ashlyn's POV.
When I woke up it was well into the day, around 12 in the afternoon.
The day before rushed into my head, and i waited for the shock to take over again, but it never came. I realized I was over it, which meant it was time to tell Josh.
I showered and changed before making my way down stairs, only to fing that Chase had gone to school, meaning my ride was gone.
I wondered around the house for a while, only needing to sprint for the bathroom twice. When the sickness passed, I decided to walk to Josh's and wait for him at his house, as his house was just a couple of blocks away.
When I arrived, I bent and grabbed the spare house key from under the door mat. I opened the door and almost jumped out of my skin whe I saw Andrew sitting in the hallway, " Jesus, you scared the crap out of me, Aren't you sposed to be in school?"
Andrew's eyes had gone wide at his first sight of me, but he had regained his composure, only his face was more serious than usual, "I know."
I didn't know what he was talking about at first, but soon I knew he meant my pregnancy, though I didn't know how. When I stayed silent, he continued to talk in the most serious voice I had ever heard him speak in, " I know who the father is."
"Duh, it's Josh."
He was shaking his head before I finished, and his serious face told me he wasn't playing a joke, wasn't bluffing when the next words left his mouth, "It's me."
