Oliver awoke in what seemed to be a smaller, much smaller, version of the workhouse. He held himself up from the box he was laying on and hesitantly called out 'Hello?' He stood and a creak was heard 'Anyone...here?' The echo of his voice retracted the feeling of loneliness. Yet when the echo disappeared, he still wasn't alone. 'Boy'
Oliver gasped and rested his chin on his right shoulder, just enough to be able to see a figure. Oliver found comfort in the distorted image, he focused his eyes. There was a man standing tall with a subtle smile. 'Mr Sowerberry lad' He gestured for Oliver to shake his hand. Reluctantly Oliver did so. He walked up and down the room making it appear smaller to Oliver. Fear reflected off his face. 'I heard you were a little bit of trouble in the workhouse, that's ok everyone's different' he stopped walking and offered a friendly wink. Oliver felt and unusual amount of safety around the stranger. 'I only want a few friendly tasks, we'll call it rent then we're square 'ay boy?' Oliver nodded his head. Mr Sowerberry looked satisfied with himself and headed upstairs.

Oliver inhaled deeply and lay back on the box.
'Don't get used to this' Oliver gained whiplash from the quick movement. 'Ouch. My lord who are you?'
'Not important who I am just important that you get out of 'ere as soon as yer can' Oliver looked puzzled. 'I thought I lived here...'
'No'
'I have no where else to go...I don't have a mother'
'That's because she was too busy for yer wasn't she? Didn't want yer was that it?'
Oliver became furious and clenched his fists.
'Leave my mother alone'
'Why should I? She's as unwanted as u are'
Oliver jumped for the vengeance of his mother and threw a few blows to the boys mouths.
After getting carried away a glass case shattered against his head.

Oliver awoke to an agonising headache and a lot of yelling. Mrs Sowerberry seemed to have had her words mixed up. 'It wasn't me, he started it' Mrs Sowerberry took immediate offence to that statement. 'Don't go blaming him'
'Bed'
'But'
'Bed!'
