Demigods at Hogwarts

Chapter 11

Leo's POV

He looked down at Nico's face. When Leo, Percy, and Frank ran into the boys' dormitory, they definitely had't expected to see him in his bed curled up with clenched teeth and fists. His eyes were closed shut and he was breathing heavily and rapidly but they could tell that he wasn't asleep, he was in great pain.

"Did you give him some of that, you know, medicine stuff?" Frank asked Jason. Harry and Ron had also walked into the room so it was clear that they couldn't talk so carelessly about abrossia or nector.

"Yea, and I don't think that we should bring him to the hospital wing or we'll be questioned," Jason answered.

Harry frowned, still a little nervous, "It would be a bit difficult trying to explain to the nurse why he was Cruciated."

"What exactly happened?" Percy looked at Ron and Harry. It was true that Leo, Frank, and Percy had no clue what had taken place or what Cruciated even meant. When they and the girls walked into the common room after coming back from the lake and saw Harry and Ron looking scared and confused, and they asked the two what had happened. When Ron mumbled, "It's Nico," and looked towards the boys' dormitory, the demigods knew instantly that it was something bad. Percy, Frank, and Leo had quickly sprinted into the room as Harry and Ron got up and followed. "Tell us if he's okay," Annabeth called out, even though it was obvious that he wasn't going to be.

Now the guys were all standing around Nico's bed, looking down at his horrible state. Jason told them the story of what had happened but stopped at the part where the blonde dude had his wand pointed at Nico while his sword was pointed back at him. "I don't really remember the spells he used that well. The first two he used were the same but different than the one that actually hit Nico, which was the third."

Harry took a step closer to them, "The first ones he used was the Expelliarmmus spell which is a disarming charm, but he dodged those. The last one he used, it was one of the three unforgivable curses. Draco Cruciated Nico, so basically, he used the Cruciatus curse on him."

Ron looked down, "And he wasn't able to dodge that one, which put him in a lot of pain. More than you can imagine."

Harry nodded, "Trust me, I've experienced it, it's horrible."

After a couple hours, Percy looked up at the clock, "Hey, I know it's only eight right now but I think we better get to bed, tomorrow being the first day of classes and all." All the other wizards besides Harry and Ron had already fallen asleep. They had asked about Nico but the demigods had quickly waved them away and told them not to disturb him without answering any of their questions.

They all got into their pajamas and laid down in their beds. Leo couldn't fall asleep. He didn't know what to expect on the quest. The only goals that Chiron had given them was to learn more about the wizards and witches and their wizarding world while staying undercover. Even the gods and goddesses didn't know a lot about them.

Just then, he heard somebody getting out of bed and looked over in the direction that the sound was coming from. Percy had gotten out of bed and had started to walk over to the door. "What are you doing?" Frank whispered. Leo turned his head and saw that Frank and Jason were also awake, but Nico was still in his bed, not completely healed from the curse.

Percy waved the three towards him, "Shhhh, I'll tell you when we get out of the room," he said so quietly that Leo could barley hear him.

When the four of them walked into the common room, they sat down on the couches by the fire. "So you guys also couldn't sleep either?" Jason asked.

"Yea, it's just that, well all of this is pretty overwhelming. You know, being in a magical world full of wizards and witches and then going to one of their boarding schools? Like I just said, overwhelming," Frank replied.

The three others nodded their heads. Percy took out a Drachma, "I agree, so I thought that it would be a great time to send an Iris Message to Chiron. We should probably tell him how it's going so far." He got up and started to walk over to the bathroom. Leo, Frank, and Jason also stood up and followed him. They got inside and Percy started to turn on the faucet but then stopped, "Wait, we can't create a rainbow without sunlight."

Leo laughed, "Jeez dude, you make us get up in the middle of the night to Iris Message Chiron and while we're all standing 'round a frickin sink, you realize that you can't even make a rainbow."

"Well sorry," Percy also laughed, "Can't Jason do some Zeus magic and call the sun over here or something?"

"First off, it's Jupiter. Second off, that's like me asking you to bring the Atlantic Ocean here, and even if I could, how would the sun fit in the bathroom?"

"Oh then, I greatly apologize," Percy said half sarcastically. He turned off the faucet and started to walk back to the common room but faltered, making the three of them behind him also stop. "Was that fat lady's portrait door open when we were last here like, just a few minutes ago?" Percy asked them.

Leo quietly walked closer to see, and then shook his head, "I'm pretty sure it wasn't open when we were here." It wasn't wide open but it was enough for them to notice, like somebody kept it ajar so they wouldn't be shut out... or shut in.

"That means that somebody must have opened it when we were in the bathroom," Frank replied. "Either the person who opened it is in here or is out there."
