Being born a wolf was hard. Being created a wolf was harder. However, the burden was always lessened by a pack. Even more so when the pack was your family.

When I was younger I always thought we were a regular family, that lived a little aways from others. Not too far, but far enough not to have neighbors. It was always nice, being so close to family members. My mother, Talia, always did her best to make my sisters and I feel normal. Most of my family lived with us.

I guess I didn't realize until I hit twelve. My father used to call it the age of accountability. It's when I could be trusted with family secrets. Then, after I knew, I connected the dots of "adult night" with the full moon, the endless patience with restricted anger. It wasn't long until I started to become like them.

It was hard to control at first. The first moon was agony, even with all the training Mom gave me. And being the oldest, it was hard to have patience with Laura and Cora. For a good half of a year, all the adults were scared I was going to maul one of the younger pups. That was until I gained more control. More endurance. And more experience. My past strengthened and hardened my heart.

But I'm not going to explain only the hardships. I'm not here to give a summary. I want to tell my story, every memory that resurfaces. Maybe if I did so, I could understand why I wished to do so.
