Genna and Jones walked back into the Police Station, wet from the rain and both carrying a disappointed face, which didn’t change as Chief King approached them, hoping for some good news about Marconi, “So, how did it go? Did you find out anything helpful for this case or anything about Marconi in general?” he asked hopefully, but his attitude changed as he saw the saddened faces on his officer, “Not really. Right now, we have next to nothing” Genna replied, not taking off her coat at her desk, while Jones flipped his wet coat on the back of his desk chair and sat down. The Chief looked at them both and then directly at Genna. “Well, if that is the case, you should check your crime scenes again. For all we know, we’ve missed something” he said, hoping to cheer them up and giving them a lead, but as Genna started walking towards the door, the Chief placed his hand on her shoulder, “Don’t give up hope. That’s the thing that keeps us going, and shows us the right path” he softly said, looking at her face, which was dripping wet from rain and still held a slight grin deep underneath. Genna nodded and walked off towards Jones, who was waiting at the door, ready to go, “Alright, one of us will check the garden and one of us will check the bathroom” she said, knowing what Jones response would be, “Okay, I’ll drive and take the garden” he declared, which left Genna extremely startled, “The garden? In this rain? Jones, are you feeling all right?” she asked, now worried that the rain had gotten to his brain, but he just smiled at her, “Look, the main crime scene is the bathroom and this more your case then mine. Plus, that bath is full of blood, its freaky” he said, while whispering the last sentence, which made Genna giggle as she opened the door.
Jones and Genna had been looking around for nearly half an hour now, but they both came up with just about nothing. Jones was being drenched in the rain, looking through the muddy, junk-filled front garden, cursing to himself as he walked along the gardens gate, while Genna was in the bathroom again and still dry, yet not happier at all. She paced along the dusty floor, looking at everything sight as closely as her eyes would allow, and as long as her brain would hold that image, until something strange suddenly caught her eye, a normal tie clip, just lying on the floor, with no a single speck of dust or scratches present. Genna quickly pulled an evidence bag and glove from her pocket and rushes to put the glove on, and pick up the tie clip. As soon as the tie clip was secured in the evidence bag and the glove was removed from her hand, she rushed out the door to find Jones kicking the tree in anger, then falling over into a huge pile of wet leaves. Genna couldn’t help but giggle silently before walking over to Jones and help him up, which Jones didn’t pay much attention to, “Stupid tree, and stupid logs. This place is trying to drive me crazy” he said, while trying to stand straight, which didn’t really work. Genna held back her personal pleasure and plainly looked at him, “Well, at least we found something. This tie clip was close to where we found the flammable liquid, and there isn’t a speck of dust at all …” Genna began, while pulling the evidence bag out of her coat pocket, which allowed Jones to understand, “… which means that this didn’t come from our victim, it came from our killer!” Jones added, with a smile now appearing and still rising. “We’d better get back to the chief” Jones quickly said, as he started briskly walking to the gate of the garden, until he stood in a mud-covered hole and fell into a large pile of leaves, which were on-top of a muddy puddle. This time, Genna couldn’t hold it back and laughed aloud at this hilarious spectacle, while Jones leaned up and splashed his arms straight in the water with anger, “I’m not having a good day!” he yells with a angered voice, which caused Genna to laugh even more, until she spotted something poking out from the mud puddle, “Jones, move aside” she said, shaking her hand in the right direction. Jones turned around and picked up the item in the mud, to find a mucky business card, with a phone number on the back, and on-top it says ‘Call Maria’”. “We should get this to Alex, while Grace looks at that tie clip you found” Jones said, while being helped to his feet by Genna. When Jones was sturdy, they both walked over to the car and left at a quick pace.
