chapter 1

joey's pov

     powering on my phone i noticed the date, may 11th. officially one month left of school until summer break. sure, i cannot wait for summer parties and not waking up at 6 am every morning, but i still have a huge task to finish before the end of this school year. i know what you're thinking, procrastination at it's finest. while that may be true, i have my reasons.

     her name is maddie ziegler. probably the sweetest girl in our school, and in my opinion the prettiest. so what does maddie ziegler have to do with a huge task and procrastination?

jack kelly, one of the guys in our group made this thing at the beginning of junior year. whoever dates and dumps the most girls by the end of this school year wins three hundred dollars and bragging rights, of course. yep, it's just as douchey as it sounds.

and it was a great plan. i was having fun, and it wasn't too hard since most of the girls were already all over us anyways.

but that was until the options got slim. and that's where maddie ziegler comes in. i was trying to avoid her at as much as i could. i mean to be honest, i didn't think i was going to get this far. i thought this bet would just be another stupid bet jack came up with that ended a month later.

maddie and i were pretty close freshman year. we met in science class when we were put together as lab partners. we talked alot i'll admit, and if i was into catching feelings i probably would have went for her.

    it's not like i want to break her heart, but i equally don't want to let jack kelly win.

i came this far, might as well finish strong.
