"Daddy."
"Yes, B?"
"I miss Ben and Mama."
Aga sighed, "Me too, little princess."
"Why did they even have to go to America." She complained.
"I already told you, B, they have family matters." He answered.
"But aren't we their family?" She whined. Any moment from now, she's going to burst into tears.
Aga picked Bea up, "We are, but they also have other relatives just like with you and Nanay and Tatay, they are our family but they are not Ben and Mama's family."
Bea pouted, "I don't understand!"
Aga kissed Bea's forhead, "Soon, little princess, you'll understand." He noticed how her lips begin to tremble and that there are tears forming in her eyes, "Hey, don't cry, B. It's your birthday today so please don't be sad. We're here with Mommy pa naman and you said that you won't be sad whenever we visit Mommy, right?"
Bea only nodded.
"Let's head back home na to get ready for your party?"
Another nod.
"Okay, say bye-bye to Mommy." Aga instructed.
"Bye, Mommy." Bea softly said with a short wave.
Afterwards, the father and daughter duo went to their car to head back home in order to prepare for Bea'a birthday party.
Ever since Ben and Lea left, Bea had been extremely lonely. The bubbly and cheerful Beatrice was lost and that concerned Aga the most.
But he couldn't deny it, with Lea and Ben not being around them felt like something important was missing.
Well technically, it's true.
-
"Happy Birthday, Baby girl!" Vice exclaimed as she entered the Muhlach's residence, followed by the rest of the gang carrying their gifts for Bea.
"Thank you." Bea managed to give them a smile.
"Oh, why do you look sad, baby?" Jodi asked Bea.
"It's just that Ben and Mama aren't here." She sighed.
They gave Bea sympathetic looks and felt bad that they coudln't help Bea during this situation.
"How about this, baby, let's call Ben and Mama later? Let's enjoy your birthday party first, okay? Play with your friends, I think they're waiting for you." Dawn said as she pointed towards Bea's classmates who were running around their backyard where the party would take place.
Bea just gave a nod and left.
Ogie gave Aga a pat on the back, "Kamusta?"
Aga shrugged, "Nakita niyo naman."
"Eh ikaw?" The man asked.
Aga only sighed.
-
Bea seemed to go back to her cheerful self as the party began to start. She enjoyed playing the party games with her classmates and is still in awe with the magic show that happened a while ago.
But it would be really better if Ben was there too.
Her dad already explained to her why Ben and Mama are in America. She could never forget the tight hug she received from Ben when he told her they're leaving already. She could never forget the warmth of her Mama's hug and the kiss on the forhead as her Mama said goodbye to her.
