" Yes sir. Yes sir I understand. I will have the papers by tomorrow morning. Okay, okay bye."

I hung up the phone, as i filled out the papers for the pitch meeting. 2 years writing for the New York Times and I haven't gotten a raise since. They say I'm not "experienced" enough, but I think its because they don't want a women on the board.

" hello New York Times office how may I help you?"

" office in 5." Mr. Thompson said curtly and I perced my lips. " alright sir."

I took a breath. Mr. Thompson was on the board and was the boss, and whenever you had to meet with him, it usually wasn't on a good note, well from experience anyway.

                          * * *

I walk through the glass doors and into the confrence room without any knowledge of why I'm here. " ah Mrs. Ryans, please have a seat. " he instructed pointing to the white leather chair presented in the front of me.

I sat down nervously, and folded my hands on the table. " um.. Why am I he-" I tried to speak but was interrupted by the door opening. " Mr. Dolan, glad you are here."  " I apologize for my tardiness and the inconvenience of this meeting." He spoke oderly as he headed to the seat in front of me.

"Mrs. Ryans this is Mr. Dolan, New York's most youngest achieved and well known entrepreneur from Dolans Enterprise." Mr. Thompson spoke profoundly and gestured toward him. I smiled and greeted him. " nice to meet you." I said and he nodded his head, his facial expression hard and serious, his eyes piercing through my own. I gulped and looked away from his intimidating glare.

"Lets cut to the chase. Mr. Dolan has a spot open in his office, and since you have showed the potential throughout the years, I think you will be a good fit." He stated dropping a folder filled with papers on the desk and pushing them towards me.

" i- i don't know what to say. What position will I be applying for?" I asked and before Mr. Thompson could clarify, Mr. Dolan took over. " this position is more professional, Journalism. Your perfect fit. I have read your articles before and I find them very intriguing and interesting. You see my office hasnt had a writer for over a year, since the last one was let go, and ive been eyeing your work and believe you will bring something to the table." He said leaning back in his chair and folding his hands over his stomach. He eyeballed me, his eyes burning holes in my skin, he was intimidating. I swallowed and my breath hitched. " uh I-I, would love to ap-" " audition." Mr. Dolan Interrupted and i glanced at him "audition?" I questioned and he nodded, as he leaned forward and grabbed the folder that was in front it me and opened it to the first page. "There are many other people I have asked from many journaling divisions to audition for the job. You will complete a resumé and present to my board on this date." He explained and I nodded with understanding.

"So I-" " I'm sorry I have a meeting in 10. Pleasure discussing this with you. You seem to kno2 what you doing. I will see you on the 5th." He said as he extended his hand. I shook it firmly and he buttoned his jacket and walked respectfully out the door.

I stood there in the room staring out at the city. I exhaled slowly. " holy cow." I whispered and closed my eyes. As I opened them again I came to a realization. The 5th is in a week. A week for me to type up a well written and professional essay to present to Dolan enterprise. The top entrepreneurship in the country. With the richest,  (sexiest), and best business man in all of new York and as well as the country. And he chose me to audition for the job.

I have to make this audition my bitch.
