If Robin could make an official statement as the Boy Wonder, protege to Batman and starter of the superhero partner trend amongst all the heroes, he declared that Klarion was one of the most annoying villains to fight. For someone like Zatara, who had their own magic, a man like that would not be very difficult to defeat. But for Robin? Someone who people debated on whether or not he actually had powers or not (he didn't)? He was extremely infuriating and difficult. Klarion was a Lord of Chaos, and he certainly lived up to the name. Missions suddenly became much more difficult when he got involved, especially since he loved to target Robin due to his lack of magic.

The preference persisted even now. They'd made their way to a swampy environment, sent out by the League to locate someone using strange technology and magic, and they'd instead found Klarion tinkering with some sort of device. It was supposed to be a simple mission. Go, get some information, and then return and report to the League. But Klarion had ruined that plan, noticing the Team quickly and attacking. They'd all been getting attacked pretty regularly, and now it seemed like Klarion was back on his bullshit of focusing on Robin. Robin really had no choice but to keep dodging the attacks, although it was getting really difficult when Klarion kept blasting away all of his cover.

"Has anyone managed to get anywhere close to that cat? I'm not sure how much longer I can last playing the mouse!" Robin called through the mind link, only able to pause for a moment before he had to move again.

"Working on it. Just make like your namesake and keep flying off." Artemis shot back.

"If we're talking namesakes, then make like yours and shoot the damn cat!"

Robin wasn't quite as lucky with the next attack, a chain of Chaos wrapping around his torso and pulling him to the ground. It wrapped around him tightly, forcing him into a semi-kneeling position against the wet mud. God, his suit was going to be a bitch to clean later.

"Robin! Just hang on, we've got a plan." Kid Flash's voice came through the link, although it was difficult to keep an eye on where he was at all times.

"Yeah, I'll just chill here. Maybe get a drink, enjoy a tan while these chains squeeze out what little air I have!"

In the process of the plan, which as far as Robin could tell involved various taunts and threats to Klarion, both Aqualad and Kid Flash got caught in similar situations to Robin. And try as he might, Robin could not get himself out of the restraints. Anytime he tried to twist himself out or free a limb from its confines, more chains would add themselves to the pile and pin him down even more. At some point he made eye contact with Kid Flash, having their own private conversation in mere seconds. They weren't getting out until Klarion wanted them out.

It appeared that whatever plan they'd made eventually worked, since Klarion became distracted enough for M'gann to throw Teekl into a nearby tree (one that hadn't been recklessly destroyed in Klarion's haste to kill Robin). Klarion immediately started to flicker, and his eyes started to glow an angry red. He shot out a blast of pure energy, knocking the remaining Team members to the ground. They all received their own cocoons of chains, pinning each of them in place as Klarion picked Teekl up from the ground. "You. You nasty, wretched children! You don't go around harming innocent cats! Don't any of you have any manners?" He snarled, turning towards the heroes.

"Haven't you heard of not attacking innocent superheroes when we didn't attack first?" Conner rolled his eyes, still struggling against the chains.

"You really don't know when to quit, do you? You think just because you know my weakness, you're guaranteed a victory every time. But I have something better. You have to win again and again and again, but I only have to win once. And I know how to make it hurt the worst. Just because you know my weakness doesn't mean yours are hidden any better. And I'll prove it to you." He grinned wildly, raising one hand towards the sky.

A large vortex started to appear, whipping up a wild wind that scattered the debris from the battle. It grew larger and larger by the second, flashing a dangerous red that Robin was not enjoying.

"Your numbers make you strong, but just getting rid of one of you is enough to cripple your strength. And the best part is? The ones that remain have to watch. You get to look back on the memory and remember how helpless you were to stop any of it. And it's our choice! Teekl, who do you think our victim should be?"

Teekl hopped up on Klarion's shoulders, meowing in his ear. "Ooh, very good choice. I do suppose he needs a vacation. But where to? So many options, so many ways to cause pain." Teekle hissed this time, its hackles raised. "Hmm. A strange choice, but interesting. Well, we've made our choice."

Klarion turned towards Robin with a grin. "Bye bye, Boy Blunder." The vortex started moving quickly, descending on the boy faster than Alfred descended on him for missed homework. The last thing he heard was his teammates shouting before sound disappeared and the world turned black.
