I moved swiftly and quietly down the deserted street. I was with my brother, Fabian.
He is the kind of brother that is too over protective. So he's technically like my father.
My brother's eyes shot blood red. He picked up a scent. He disappeared quickly down
the street. I heard a scream. I tried so hard not to cry. I didn't like this whole 'Eating
Humans' thing. It scared me. Plus the last time someone saw one of us vampires, the
whole entire United States Army was after us. I mean, can't we just make peace?
No? Not an option? Ok. We were at war for seven years. It's 2021 now. People still
are cautious about us, but most of them got mindswept. Even the President. Obama
is not the president anymore. Suzanne Nixon is. She's the first female president of the
United States of America. My brother came out of no where. He had blood all over his
face. I could smell that it was a girl he ate. A seven year old girl. I turned away so he
wouldn't see me cry. She was an orphan anyways, so there's some ok news. I heard
voices. Human voices. Me and my brother jumped up onto the roof of the mini mart.
I was much faster than my brother and he knew it. Dang it! I could've saved that poor
little innocent girl! Ugh! I'm so stupid. I eyed the humans carefully. Well, I mean, we
are human too. We're just vampire humans. We aren't dead. Or we would be zombies.
If a zombie bites a vampire, they turn into zompires. Zompires, not so fun. Me and my
brother eyed the humans from head to toe. They were boys. Two of them. A blonde one
and a brown haired one. I could feel my brothers emotions. He was getting ready to
pounce on them. But I didn't let him. They two boys stopped walking. The blonde one
turned to his friend.
"Aye, it's kinda creepy out here at night. I feel like, some creepy stalker is on our case."
"Im not a creepy stalker." My brother whispered to himself.
"Did you hear that, Niall?" The brown haired one asked.
I nudged my brother in the shoulder. 'Way to go, hot shot.' I said internally.
He scowled at me. The two boys looked in our direction, but we were up in a tree
already. I turned to my brother to ask him when can we go home, but he wasn't there.
I saw him sneak up behind the two boys. Glaring them down. He was about to attack
the blonde one, but I sprinted and attacked him to the ground. I hissed at him. He just
growled at me. I felt eyes on me. I turned my head to see the two boys staring at me.
And only me. I jerked my brother up with one hand and threw him against the wall.
There was a large dent in the brick wall now. The blonde haired boy just took a step
back. My brother growled at him.
"Talk about anger management." The brown haired one said. I snorted. My brother
growled at me. The brown haired one squinted.
"Dude. Is that blood all over your face?" He asked.
"Uh, no." My brother smirked.
My brother walked around the corner, then vanished into the dark night. I turned on
my heel to walk away. But before I could the blonde haired boy stopped me.
"Wait, who are you?" He asked.
I turned around and smiled softly. I didn't wanna scare the kid. My brother already
got that taken care of. I smiled weakly.
"My name is Evangeline." I replied.
The brown haired boy tilted his head. He looked confused. He looked at the blonde
haired boy, who just stood there.
"Evangeline." He repeated. "Huh, that name sounds a bit familiar."
Yeah. I'm not the only Evangeline out there.
"Anywhoo, I have to go now. Uh... bye." I said.
I walked around the corner casually, then sprinted down the street. And that was
the end of that.
