Melody-Jay Wilson. Or, as most people call me, Jay. That's me!
A foster kid who was abandoned by her abusive parents. The girl who is obsessed with musicals and who sits in a music room at lunch. The girl who was forced out as gay at age 13 on Instagram by her 'friend'. And the girl who struggles with depression and social anxiety.
Yep. That is me.
My foster dad Max has always said that I seem to take the hard way in life. He is not wrong there. Oh boy he is not wrong.
I've been through 3 abusive foster homes and 2 care homes to get to where I am now. Max is great. Unlike most, he actually wants to help me and seems to care about me! That's a first.
To be quite honest, there's nothing really interesting about me. I spend my days talking to people who run the care system, writing music, and fangirling over Broadway and West End actors and musicals. (Seriously though. Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius, Ethan Slater is crazy talented, and Jessie Mueller is my idol).
Most interesting stuff about me is very sad and hard for me to think about and look back on, as it can bring back horrible memories, or make me think instrusive, scary thoughts.
Max says he has something to tell me, so I'm looking forward to that!
