Fear.

Fear coursed through her body, infiltrating her veins and overpowering her mind.

Confusion and loneliness penetrated her emotions, and the strong urge to curl her entire body into a tight ball came to her. She wanted to hide, she wanted to stay out of sight, to cower away from the wizarding world.

Jasper Lowell was a pure-blooded fifteen year-old female introvert who proudly belonged to the Slytherin house. She, as an introvert, liked to draw more than she liked to socialise with unfamiliar people, so she had just one friend- Pansy Parkinson. Despite Jasper's house and it's reputation, she was quite a cool and collected teen. She was mature for her age, but would fool around with Pansy every once in a while.

Jasper's life at Hogwarts had been pretty good for the past four years. She had managed to stay out of any terrible drama and was never dragged into anything exciting.

The same could not be said for her life at home.

Jasper's parents, Jane and Adam Lowell, did not care about their daughter. It wasn't as if they abused her, they simply ignored her. Yes, food was laid out on the dinner table each morning, afternoon, and evening, and medical supplies were provided. But they didn't care about her.

So, Jasper ignored them back. Her parents had an oddly large house, which meant she had an oddly large room, which meant there was plenty of space for her art supplies. Jasper, in the act of ignoring her parents, stayed in her room almost twenty-four seven, coming out only to use the restroom or to get food from the downstairs kitchen.

Jasper never necessarily payed any attention to her parents, so whenever they left her a note saying that they were off to a business meeting, she brushed it off.

But, it wasn't until just two days ago did a few members of the Ministry come pounding on the door to arrest Jane and Adam.

Turns out, all of the "business meetings" that they had gone to were actually meetings with colleagues of You-Know-Who. Jasper couldn't believe it until the Ministry workers forcer her parents to pull up their left sleeves, revealing the infamous Dark Mark.

Not too soon afterwards, they were sent to Azkaban.

Jasper had been sick to her stomach since then, thinking of going to the Headmaster and tell him that she couldn't go to Hogwarts this year. Maybe she could find a nice Muggle school where she could be ignored, where no one would know of her and her parents' terrible deeds.

Now, she was standing, isolated, on the inside of platform nine and three-quarters. It seemed as if everyone's eyes were on her, staring deep into her soul, reading her thoughts, as if waiting for her to jump up and start doing dark magic.

But, Jasper didn't want to be like her parents. She was completely and totally against You-Know-Who, and felt deeply ashamed that anyone related to her was a Death Eater.

So Jasper kept her head down, quietly making her way onto the Hogwarts Express, silently awaiting the horrors that might be in store for her.
