That night I sat up in my bed. It was two in the morning and I couldn't sleep. The room was comfortably dark. My alarm clock on the nightstand blue digital numbers left the room in a dark aqua colored hue.

I wanted to talk to the cat, but was unsure how to do that. The cat told me not to just carelessly call out but never instructed me on what exactly to do. Useless thing, it irritated me but also fascinated me more than anything.

With a sigh I rolled onto my side and closed my eyes. I tried to remember what the cat had said. I could easily imagine his voice. I focused on it. I opened my eyes and focused on the dresser at the end of my bed and imagined the cats siloutte.

I felt a hum in my body as it began to vibrate and the room around me began to blur. I focused my eyes on the spot and pictured the cat. I felt a rush of hot air through my throat as it rose to my mouth and a deep voice I had never heard before escaped my lips as I uttered the words "Ovinnik."

The room became pitch black and everything was still. A few seconds passed and the lighting adjusted back to normal.

The cat was sitting on the dresser right where I had imagined it would be. I sat up in my bed as his flaming red eyes bore into mine.

"Good job kid." The cat's sarcastic voice filled my mind. He jumped from the dresser onto the foot of my bed and began licking his paw.

"Thanks. I don't even know how I knew to do that. Is that your name? Ovinikk?" I whispered excitedly.

"Obviously that's my name, did you honestly think I was just some cat? After our first encounter I imprinted on you. I know where you're at, at all times. I'm in your mind, what you see I see, what thoughts cloud your mind I can hear, I told your subconsious my name upon imprinting simply because I was curious. Your ability to force my presence rather than request is quite impressive. Now did you summon me just so I could blow air up your ass kid?" The cat elucidated his voice laced with irritation.

"No...I want some answers. Do me a favor and enlighten me on what the hell is happening to me and explain everything from the moment we met." I whispered firmly. My mind began wandering to the warnings and the defense abilities to the very first moment I stepped on the other side.

"I've already done you enough favors kid. For nothing in return I might add! You got a lot of heat coming your way, and Im not about to get involved with Luke." The cats ears slicked black as he glared back at me. Who's Luke? I wondered.

"I don't have any time to talk to you kid. Have a nice life if you can mange to live much longer." Ovinnik laughed with that sarcastic tone of his. I didn't want him to leave yet! He hadn't explained everything yet. I had too many questions for him to just leave now. Anger swelled around me like a force I felt the change in the air as it grew. Battery acid pumped through my viens and I felt an invisible force constricting back inside me before exploding outwards in the room surrounding me.

Darkness. I blinked and when I opened my eyes I was in a empty room with a red hue and the cat was sitting across from me. His ears slicked back and a growl coming from his throat.

"Well you know how to prove a point kid. But I don't have time for this." Ovinniks angry voice rasped in my mind before echoing in the room around us.

"You come with riddles and never stay around long enough to explain them! I have no idea what's going on I'm just trying to understand everything!" I shot back haughtily. Ovinnik's tail flicked impatiently behind him.

"Well human, that's because in your world all eyes are watching. Everything I say to you is not as private as you may think. Besides the fact that every second with you is an hour in the dark side. My time away does go noticed believe it or not kid." Ovinnik's irritated response sparked more anger within me and the room around us darkened to a deep maroon hue. Ovinnik looked around amused.

"Interesting..." The cat mused, irritation fading from his sarcastic demeanor.

"What is it?" I said as I began looking around unsure if I had went to the dark place. My stomach got light as my eyes searched the room for a dark creature like the kind I've seen from my past.

"You don't have to worry about that kid. Nothing is going to be able to come in here, let alone find this place." Ovinnik commented slight curiousity lingering in his voice.

"And what does that mean?" I asked looking around. "Where exactly did you take us?" I questioned. Ovinnik scoffed.

"It's not where I have taken you but where you have taken me kid. You created this place." The cat got off its haunches and stretched out in front of me.

"I created this place?" I asked in disbelief as my eyes scanned the empty room. "How?"

"One of the defense abilities. Useful if you've been injured or need to hide or to keep a hostage." His eyes flashed at me. "There are many realms around you and it isn't unheard of for a human to make their own, however it is uncommon. Requires a lot of power. Which humans don't possess anymore like they used to. But occasionally..." Ovinnik voice trailed off as he walked around the room. "Enough answers for you kid?"

"Almost. What are the other defense abilities I have?" I demanded. Ovinnik rolled his eyes.

"I don't know it varies with each person. Some have multiple some can only do one. So far I know you possess three abilities. Interdimensional Travel; how you can travel from your world to ours. Yours is advanced, obviously, that's how you're able to keep me here in your own catalyzed hideaway." Ovinnik rattled off quickly his voice tainted again with sarcasm and irritation. "Second you can't be possessed. So no creature or being can hold power over you mentally or emotionally. But you are still a weak human with bones that break easily." Ovinnik growled his flaming red and orange eyes glowing brighter than I have ever seen.

"I'm not trying to piss you off or anything Ovinnik, I just want some answers." I told the cat. The room around us lightened slightly.

"I took pity on you as a child and rescued you from what would have been Scavengers tearing you apart and eating you alive. Furthermore took care to watch you over the years and try and warn you of the impending doom fate has written for you. You insult me by forcing me to answer questions you were too impatient to discover yourself." Ovinniks blazing eyes were glowing bright. "I have done more for you than you have to repay kid beware for the enemies you make in your stupidity will become the death of you." The cat's ears were slicked back and his back was arched. He began to grow in size and was the size of a large bear within seconds, then he started growling and barking at me like a dog. Deep throaty barks that reminded me of a rottwieler. What the hell was going on?

I felt my body tense up ready to fight. The room turned dark violet but the more my body hummed with a dark force, a part of my mind whispered for me to calm down.

"I'm sorry Ovinnik I appreciate everything you have done for me. Thank you." Once I uttered out the last word the world was shaking around me and became blurry before becoming pitch black. My body felt like I was squeezing through a tight tunnel and then spit through a tornado before I fell down comfortably on my bed.

I blinked and my eyes adjusted to the blue hue my room was engulfed in. The sun had began pouring through my curtains. I was suddenly aware of how tired I was and I struggled to keep my eyes open as I glanced at the dresser where I saw the cat back was back to its normal size.

Ovinnik began slowly disapearing his red orange eyes not as bright as before but they lingered longer than his shadow that began disapearing as the light reached the dresser. I felt exhausted. All my muscles ached and my body felt heavy. I was asleep within seconds of closing my eyes.
