Chapter 23: Well

It's....... not that simple. I hard to explain, Claire said. Well can you explain it, I ask. It's a long story, Bailey says. Well all we have is time, says Jake. Well.... It started with our parents. Mainly our dad. After he was un frozen from the ice. S.H.E.I.L.D took him in. When he started going on missions again. His mission was to stop Viper. But he wasn't alone. He worked with the Black Widow. It was just them no one else. There mission was to stop Viper from doing what every she was doing. What was she doing, Jake ask. We don't know and still don't our parents said that it was best we don't know, Bailey replied. Anyways, it was a mission that would take 3 weeks to complete. They were on there 2nd week. That got the information they needed to stop her. They got in to the building and took out any Vipers that got in there way. They got up to the tenth level where she was. She didn't realize that they were there. But some one else did. Her son. He was 8. He was helpless. He started yelling for his mom. But she was to busy trying to do what ever she wanted to do. She didn't care that her son was screaming. Our parents told us that her son died. But they never told us how or why. What do you think he died from, Eric ask. I think he died in an explosion. Our parents told us that they got out just as the building exploded. But we don't know the rest, Bailey said. Have you asked your parents for the rest of the story, Jake ask. Every time we ask they just change the subject, Bailey adds. So why are the Vipers after you two. Because she wants us to die like her son did, I say. How long to you think she will be after you two, Eric ask. We don't know but she's not the type to give up, Bailey says. So your saying that it could be weeks, months, years, Jake yells. Yep, I replied. Wait, why is she after Bailey more, Jake ask. Because when I was little I would always go over there. Some how I got spired powers. She wants me more because she fought spired man and he put her in jail. She wants you because you have spired powers, Jake asked. Yep, she replied. So can you guys go on missions, Eric ask. I guess, I say. I mean you guys are on a mission so it's not like you will get a second one, Bailey laughs. Well I guess, Jake laughs. Well I guess we all get a while off, Eric says. I guess so, I say. Eric and I head back up to the roof and sit in the ledge. We sit there holding hands doing nothing. We don't talk it anything. We just enjoy the night and Bailey and Jake our doing the same.
