In my dream I saw a tall, middle aged man with auburn hair. He might've been good looking if it wasn't for the scars on his face from ear to ear, covering his nose. His name entered my mind. Loki. What had scarred his face? Where they from battle? No. Acid. Acid from a snake. A smug grin spread across his face as he watched me study him. "I'm Loki," he said. "But of course, you already knew that." His voice was like a snake that slithered into my ears, yet it sounded familiar, like a distant memory. I closed my eyes and let the memory flood over me.

I was standing at the doorway of my parent's room. The door was cracked open and hushed voices floated out. I had just had a nightmare where a man captured me. He said he was my uncle and was taking me to my father. I peeked through the opening. Loki stood there, waving his arms frantically. " She'll never get through without my help!"He whisper-yelled. "She's my niece and i want her to survive Ragnarök! Sure i'll be the one causing it but its bound to happen some way or another. If you let me take her now, she has a higher chance of surviving."

Mom's face hardened. "Ignorance is the best weapon," she said firmly, as if trying to convince herself as well. "Don't you see?" he cried, abandoning the whisper. "It's to late for ignorance! The ravens have already been coming for them." "No. She's my daughter now and I'm not letting go of her," mom said stubbornly. Loki heaved an exasperated sigh. "Thanks to you it will be a miracle if they survive, but I will let you keep her." With that, he turned into a falcon and flew out the open window.

My vision returned to reality. Loki looked no different than he had in my memory, but he was much closer now. I swear he had been further away when I closed my eyes. My face started to sting. I tried to turn, but the stinging got worse. I fell to my knees. My vision swam and my mind raced. The searing pain made its way into my lungs and head. Then it stopped. A boy came into focus not too far away from me.

"I thought you'd like to see your brother," Loki said. "before I destroy the world."
