Drew's parents were the ones to come forth with the marriage proposal. It was more like a business merger contract, but it wasn't too bad. I had heard about Drew, and he knew about me. I didn't mind being held by him, and I suppose I could imagine a future with a man like him. A few dates and conversations had proved it.
Proved it, that I was beginning to fall for him. So we could do it. Marry each other, that is.
The date was fixed. The dress fittings were done. The invitations were sent. We were going to get married in a week.
And a week was all it took to break my heart. All it took to make me hate glitter and sequins. And Poppy. And pink.
