Luna's POV

Bright lights. Big City. New York. What a time to be alive.

Everybody's dancing in the street, some kind of flashmob. Amazing, really. Brilliant, if you ask me -- The great capability to get others to feel and do what you have in store for them. Amazing and brilliant, indeed.

Standing here feels like a blur. A mixture of thoughts, sadness, excitement, whiskey, and cigar. Such beauty; put in this moment that I am witnessing.

Maybe it'll last longer. Maybe. Maybe.

"MOVE!"

I fell on the floor. This guy just pushed me so hard, I fell. "WHAT THE HELL?" staring wide eyed at him.

Dirty blonde hair. Blue eyes. Blue like the ocean. It's him.

"SAY YOU'LL NEVER LET ME GO! AHHHH AHHH AH" singing feels so much better when you're 19, in a bar, drunk, and dizzy.

"Luns, your mum's been calling you for an hour now. Maybe we should drive you home already.

"Luna let's go. We should get you home It's almost past your curfew." Calum whispered.

10. Curfew's 10. MY curfew's 10.

"Yeessssireee, partnerr" slur of words come out of my mouth. Maybe it's the alcohol I've been drinking or the vomit I've been holding in.

Calum pulled me out the bar and got me in his car safely. He is that type of guy. The type to care for you, make you feel safe with him, and be sweet to you like his life depends on it.

"Hey. What are you thinking? You're creeping me out, Luna."

"Nothing. I'm just glad you're here to take care of me. You know... with all the mischief and misfits."

"Quit doing that." He said looking sad.

I looked at him confusingly, "Doing what?"

"Like you're gonna go any minute now. Like you're going to run away and leave me behind. You know I don't like it Luna,

you know." he looked away.

Heart's beating faster. Maybe it's the whiskey. Maybe.

Looking at him feels like the thorns have been picked out from the most beautiful rose I've ever seen. The manifesto of being beautiful is hidden in so much misery.

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry. But what if? What if I go to NYU this year? I think I'm ready for the big league, Cal."

"You sure you're ready? He's gonna be there, right?"

"I can handle it. I will, promise." Everything fell silent for a minute or two. I don't want to argue. We've gone through this a hundred times. Me, NYU, him, and alot of things. "Besides, we shouldn't be having these conversations. I'm too drunk for this and I don't want to go home yet."

"Well, okay. I heard they were doing a flash mob, 10:30 sharp near the mega screens. You up for it, Looney?"

"Definitely!"

He's here. Infront of me. Panting.

Tall frame, dirty blond hair, lip ring, a band shirt, skinny jeans, converse, and a rather distracting cut on the side of the lip.

Seeing him now is like setting fire to an already burnt out Sun. I am both happy and sad to see him. So much effort has been put into moving on, but falling inlove again only takes a minute or so.

"Luna. Wow. I-i just.",

"You're in New York again. Why didn't you call me? I-i missed you, Luna." eyes not meeting mine.

Maybe he's drunk. Maybe he's lying. Maybe it's the alcohol I can smell from his shirt.

"You know damn well why i didn't call you, Luke.

Besides, what are you still doing here?" I said roughly. This is his city Luna, not yours. I know the answer to my own question and yet I question him.

Maybe it's the alcohol, Luna. Maybe.
