(ON HIATUS) False Hatred (Eren x Reader AU)

Chapter 2

Eren held the bridge of his nose as y/n got pulled away by Jean and Annie, that just so happened to be sitting next to them on that longer row in the very back of the bus. (if you've seen Bridge to Terabithia, you would know what i'm taking about. the ones the bullys sit on)

Eren got pulled away by Armin and Mikasa as y/n sat down, angry with him for saying what he did.

Armin pulled Eren down in his seat and sighed, "Eren, seriously, stop picking fights out of nowhere. It's getting out of hand and she's not going to give you the attention you want from her. Especially after what you said," Armin sighed before looking out the window impatiently.

"She started it!" Eren retorted with a scowl. He watched the bus pull up at a gas station 10 minutes later. He stood up along with the rest of the kids on the bus.

"Come back in at least 10 minutes or we're leaving you here!" The bus driver called out to the students.

Most of the kids left to buy from the gas station. Eren waited for most of the students on the bus to clear before walking off the bus. He stretched once he got off and took a deep breath with his nose, wincing as the air went through his bleeding nose. He held a hand up to his nose to keep the blood from running down his face before heading to the bathroom. He walked in and looked around the dirty bathroom before grabbing some toilet paper and pressing it against his nose. He stood in front of the mirror and flinched, gripping the edge of the sink, "fuck," he muttered under his breath.

He tried to dry up the blood, looking up into the mirror to see a smirking h/c haired girl, leaning against the wall with her arms and ankles crossed.

"Having fun there, Tall Boy?" She teased, tapping her foot on the ground.

Eren turned around with a scowl and glared at her, "What the hell is-" he was cut off by the pain in his nose.

She rolled her eyes and approached Eren, "Stop doing that, you're going to make it worse," she said before she grabbed the piece of toilet paper from his hand and sighed before pressing it gently against his nose.

The tall brunette opened his mouth to refuse, but closed it back up, kind of like a fish. He flinched, taking a step back, "Ow, that hurts," he whined, glaring at the shorter girl who gave him a 'really?' look with one of her eyebrows raised.

"Stop being such a baby. You're still the same," she chuckled before stepping forwards and trapping Eren between her and the sink. She pressed the toilet paper against his nose again, "Don't hesitate or it will just get worse. Trust me," She explained in a soothing voice, oblivious to the way Eren's cheeks were burning up.

"Wh-whatever," Eren stammered, averting his eyes away from her e/c ones, looking down to the floor, biting his lip.

Y/n frowned slightly, holding the toilet paper against his nose a couple seconds longer, "Did I really punch you that hard?" She asked, her tone full of guilt.

Eren's eyes went wide and shook his head quickly, "N-no, not at all! Are you okay?" He asked as y/n stepped away before throwing away the piece of toilet paper. Eren mentally slapped himself after asking that question. All he did was want to change the subject, but it didn't really work out.

The e/c eyed girl laughed, "Eren Jaeger? Asking me if I'm okay? My rival for three years? Did you hit your head on something?" She asked laughing while shaking her head, wondering why Eren even asked her that. They normally don't ask each other if they're okay.

"Tsk, sh-shut up," he muttered.

Y/n smirked before grabbing more toilet paper and handing it to Eren, "Here, you're going to need this. It's going to be a couple more hours," She shrugged.

Eren modded, "Yeah, I figured. We should go back to the bus before it leaves," He said to the shorter female, quickly walking towards the bus and out of the bathroom.

She quickly ran up to him, matching pace with his long strides, "I know," She sighed, linking her own fingers together and putting them on the back of her neck, her elbows to the side, "This bus ride had been a pile of shit. Marco and Jean keep cuddling and crap, and so do Annie and Bertholdt. Reiner is just...he gets on my nerves and is a totally flirt," She complained, rolling her eyes.

Eren chuckled and shrugged, "Yeah, I mean, you could always come sit with me, I have an extra spot," he thought he said it in his head, until he realized he didn't and turned red from embarrassment, "Wh-what I m-meant is y-"

Y/n cut him off, "That'd be great actually, anything to get some peace and quiet. I need sleep, I haven't slept in days, possible a week," she lied, stepping into the bus, telling Eren she's going to get her stuff.

The brunette smiled widely as y/n walked away and rushed to the seat behind Armin and Mikasa, seeing Armin eating a bag of gummy worms, "Y/n is going to sit with us!" He whispered happily before snaking the gummy worm out of Armin's hand.

Armin laughed, shaking his head, "Eren, did you actually invite her like we talked about yesterday? I'm so proud," he smirked.

Eren rolled his eyes and playfully pushed Armin's head, "Shut up, I was only being nice."

"Yeah, and how often are nice to someone, let alone y/n?" Armin smugly asked, biting the top part of the gummy worm and ripping it off sassily.

Eren hushed Armin as y/n sat next to Eren, putting her bag on the floor, "Hey, Armin! I haven't talked to you since the science project," Y/n said, waving slightly.

Armin turned around and looked over his seat, "Hey y/n, how nice of you to join us. And yeah, your creativity and my knowledge really did ya well when we worked together."

She chuckled, "Yeah, Annie wasn't too please about me coming over here," she joked, ignoring Armin's last comment.

"Well fuck her then," he muttered only loud enough for the three teens to hear with Armin and y/n exchanging confused looks.
"Have you got something against her? Last time I heard, you liked her," she asked jokingly but was also genuinely curious.

"Nah, she's just really possessive," he snapped, crossing his arms like a child. She really was though, y/n and her had been friends for a long time. She was one of her first friends, after Marco and Jean. She really does get possessive at some point. She's even possessive over Bertholdt.

Armin laughed and leaned over to pet Eren's head, "Aw poor Eren, so overpro-" Armin was cut off by Eren shoving gummy worms into Armins mouth so he couldn't say any more.

Y/n's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Eren, what the hell is up with you today?" She stood up a little.

With his eyes slightly narrowed, he leaned over the and took a gummy worm from Armin, "Here, have a dummy worm," He smiled nervously handing it to her so she would stop talking.

The female looked at Eren for about 10 seconds with a cocked eyebrow, "...thanks?" She took the gummy worm from his hand and took a bite out of it.

His eyes widened before mumbling an apology. He sat back in his seat, his face burning from embarrassment, "I think I hit my head," He lied, looking at Mikasa.

"I told you so," y/n joked. She leaned back against the seat and quickly fell asleep before her head fell into Eren's shoulder after some time.

Armin and Mikasa gave him a knowing look, as Armin started eating his food, and Mikasa went back to reading.

Eren looked down to y/not see her sleeping peacefully as they got closer to camp. He chest raised ever so slightly at every breath. Her long, dark eyelashes that were curled. Her lips tinted pink and her mouth slightly agape. Eren thought every moment of y/n's was absolutely adorable.

He put his hand on y/n's head and slightly pet it. She groaned as she scooted her body closer to Eren's, now nuzzling her face into his neck and her hand on his chest. He couldn't tell if she was doing it voluntarily or not, but either way, he never wanted this bus ride to end.
