The Princess & The Thief

Along The Road

As the sun started to rise in Ninjago, only one of the two run away's were up, and surprisingly it was Jay. He got up early to gather some eggs and berries for Nya and him. Luckily for him, there were no dangerous threat of wild animals around, so he was able to gather peacefully. After he gathered the stuff he needed, he headed back to camp. Once Jay got back though Nya was still asleep which scared Jay a little since she was usually the first one up. Jay put down the basket of berries and eggs and walked into the tent he and Nya shared. He saw Nya sleeping peacefully in the sleeping bag, but she looked paler then usual, so he place the upside palm of his hand on her forehead.  

"Yikes" Jay whispered to himself, "high fever, looks like we're going to have to take it slow today." He removed his hand from her head and planted a kiss on her forehead before walking back to the campfire. As he was frying the eggs with a pan he stole a while ago he heard loud stomping and horse noises a couple feet away from their camp site. He stood up as he saw a couple knights on horse, from the looks of it they came from Ignacia.

Jay made sure his hood was over his head once they stopped in front of him. There were only three knights, so he should be good. "Sir may we ask you a couple questions?" One of the knights asked him. 

Jay nodded, "Of course you can kind knights" Jay told them sounding like an idiot. 

"Great, we are looking for this man right here" The guard said holding out a piece of paper with his face on it, and it said wanted dead or alive. 

"Why are you looking for this young man?" Jay asked them a bit confused. 

The other knight coughed, "This man murdered the royals of the abandoned kingdom and kidnapped Princess Nya" The guard told him, "Have you seen him or the princess by any chance."

Jay didn't like lying, but for his sake and Nya's he had to, "No sir, have never seen this man in my whole life, and I didn't even know the princess was missing until yesterday" He told the knights. 

The knights smiled at Jay, "Well thank you for answering our questions, but we have to get going now" And with that the knights rode their horses the other way of the camp.

The thief let out a relieved sigh and continued making the eggs. But it was weird that they thought Nya was kidnapped, she ran away. That kept repeating in his head for a while until he heard a little yawn. Jay turned around to see Nya out of the bed and already dressed in a hoodie and leggings. "Morning Jay" She said tiredly as she sat down next to me, "You're making breakfast?" 

Jay smiled, "Yeah. I'm frying up some eggs and I already washed some blueberries over there in that basket for us to eat" Jay told her. 

Nya sneezed, and Jay thought it was cute since it sounded like a little kitten. "Also I check your forehead earlier and you have a high fever, so we're going to have to take it slow today" Jay informed her. 

The princess groaned, "Of all days I had to get sick it was the day we are going to see Prince Zane" Nya complained. 

"Think positive okay. It make you feel better, but before we dig in I do need to tell you something" Jay told her. 

"Fire away" She responded.

Jay took a deep breath, "So apparently your parents think you have been kidnapped by me" He told her. 

The raven haired girls mouth dropped opened in disgust, "How could they think that ? I set letters in my room telling them I'm done with the royal life" She said confused, "Great first the marriage now my disappearance."

The thief wrapped his arm around Nya's waist, "That's why we need to make sure we get to Prince Zane before someone catches us" Jay told her. 

Nya looked at Jay, "Yeah I know, but what I'm wondering is how do they know I'm with you?" She asked. 

That question has also been in Jay's mind as well, but they need to keep things positive. "Who knows, but as long as we have each other then we'll be okay" Jay told her.

"Promise?" She asked. 

"Promise" Jay assured her as he gave her a peck on the cheek, "Now lets dig in!" The two love birds started eating their breakfast very quickly, so they can travel to Stiix. Once they finished they undid their small tent and sleeping bag and put it in Jay's satchel. They started walking to a large dock in which they had to pay, they stopped at a sign saying $4 per person. Fortunately for them, Nya had the extra change to pay for their trip to Stiix, They climbed aboard the boat and was talking about their plan.

"So what do we do once we reach the kingdom of Stiix?" Jay asked Nya. 

Nya thought about it for a moment before an idea hit her, "Okay so there's a little section of the temple that me and Zane would hang out at, but only we know where it is, so I was thinking once we reach the temple then we go through there and find Zane" Nya explained. 

"Good plan, but doesn't he have royal guards around his kingdom?" Jay asked her. 

Nya shook her head, "Nope after his father died a couple of months ago the town has been very quiet and there has been no trouble, so most of the guards have low standards" Nya informed him.

'We will be leaving in five minutes' one of the sail boys told them as they stood near the railing.  Only a little longer and then they can both have their freedom.
