Jack and his two friends wove through the crowded hallways of Brookside High. Jack lead the pack as two of his friends hurried behind. He made his way with "excuse me's" and "coming through's" while his eyes never left that mess of black hair.

"Come on, guys! We can't lose him." Jack said as he slid his way past a group of kids.

"So, why are we stalking your, quote-on-quote, 'rival' again?" asked Quinn, one of Jack's best friends. She was the youngest of the trio at 15. She was also the shortest. She had short orangey-blonde hair and big round glasses that she constantly adjusted as she sped walk to keep up with Jack. She wore a green flannel with a plain white t-shirt underneath and cargo shorts with Converses.

"I'm not stalking him! I'm just making sure he doesn't beat me!" Jack exclaimed as he dodged someone's backpack as they were putting it on. Unfortunately, Cam, Jack's other best friend, got hit right in the face with it.

"Ow," groaned Cam, "Jack, how is Beau going to beat you?"

Cam is a tall, somewhat over weight dude with a big heart. He's a softie and he's not a huge fan of getting roped into Jack's antics but he's always there when his friends need help (even if it's something as stupid as Jack chasing after a girl). Cam was the same age as Jack; 17. He usually wore a pair of jeans and a graphic tee with Vans. He wasn't the fancy type.

"I can't let him leave school before me," he explained, "If he does, then Jessica will run after him and focus all of her attention on him instead of me! I gotta find her before she finds him!"

Quinn let out a sigh. "Again with the Jessica crap? Are we seriously running through the halls-"

"And getting hit in the face with backpacks." Added Cam.

"Because of some girl?" she finished.

"Jessica is not some girl. She's smart and pretty and she has a nice ass!" said Jack.

"Wow, that totally doesn't sound like ever other girl you have a thing for." Quinn stated with a sarcastic tone.

The trio took a hard right as they kept swerving between people.

"I don't understand why we can't just go to Bubba's and get all-you-can-eat chili cheese fries. Girls don't stay forever; Bubba's chili cheese fries do." Cam gets real tired of Jack shenanigans real fast.

"Yeah, I'm with Cam on this one." Quinn chimed.

"Both of you shut it! We're almost at the exit." It still amazed the two of them how easily Jack could maneuver through the busy hallways and still keep his eyes on Beau.

Seconds later, the three reached the school's front exit. After scanning the school's parking lot, Jack finally found his beloved Jessica!.... talking to Beau.

"Oh, COME ON!" whined Jack as he watched Jessica giggle and twirl her hair while chatting to Beau. The son-of-a-bitch had the nerve and sit there nonchalantly like the hottest girl in school wasn't talking to him.

Jack was tempted to pull some weeb shit and challenge Beau to a duel for Jessica's love but a hand his shoulder pulled him back into reality.

"Hey man," Cam said with a sincere smile, "let's go get some chili cheese fries."

Jack responded with a long sigh and a "fine" as he shoved his hands into his jean pockets.

Jack sat with his head on the table and a pout on his face as his friends happily devoured Bubba's all-you-can-eat chili cheese fries.

Cam looked down at Jack, who hadn't eaten a bite of his fries.

"Hey Jack," Cam asked with a full mouth. Jack looked up at him with sad eyes. "You going to eat that?" He pointed at his basket of fries.

Jack let out a sigh. "No. Knock yourself out." He pushed the basket towards Cam and Cam dumped the Jack's fries into his basket.

"Dude, I don't understand why you're acting so depressed." Quinn said.

"She's the love of my life, Quinn!" He cried.

"She's literally just like every other girl in school."

"No! She's not!"

"Okay then." Quinn decided that the conversation wasn't going anywhere so she went back to focusing on her fries.

Jack sat up and took a long sip from his Cherry Coke. "I don't get it."

"What?" Cam asked.

"What does he have that I don't?" Jack complained.

"Two inches." stated Quinn.

Jack glared at her and crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't know if that was a height joke or a dick joke, but I don't appreciate it."

Quinn just shrugged and went back to eating her fries.

"Well," Cam started as he swallowed the fries in his mouth, "you could always ask him."

"Cam, what are you on? I can't just ask my rival how he so easily picks up girls all the goddamn time!" Jack stared angrily at his cup of Cherry Coke.

"Man, what do you want us to say?" Cam said.

"I don't know," Jack paused as he thought. "Maybe I can confront him about how he's sabotaging my game."

"'Sabotaging your game'?" mused Quinn.

Cam hissed like he just heard someone's bones breaking. "Oh, I don't like that option."

"Why not? It's the best option." Jack said.

"I don't like confrontation and I get second-hand embarrassment easily."

"You could become his friend and learn his secrets." Quinn suggested.

Jack's face twisted into something of pure shock and terror. "QUINN WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU! WHY WOULD I EVER BECOME FRIENDS WITH HIM?"

"Dude, calm down," shushed Cam "She's just kidding and you're causing a scene."

Quinn face slowly turned into a satanic smile and Jack's expression became worried. "Jack..."

"Quinn..."

"I dare you to become friends with Beau."
