Ugh. I've never wanted to go back to bed so much in my life before. 6:30
isn't okay with me and defiantly not Kailie either. We finally get enough spark in us to roll ourselves out of bed and round up the urge to get ready for school. Still half out of it, we roll into the car, and fall asleep waiting on mom to get off the phone with Kailie's parents who are currently in Brazil on a four year mission trip. About fifteen minutes later, the car stops and mom screams, "WAKE UP LADIES! WE'RE HERE!" while unbuckling her seatbelt and then proceeding to come unbuckle us like we're a pair of five year olds who are drunk off apple juice. Waking up instantly, the first thing I saw was the name of the school in big bold letters on the outsdie wall. Bleh, i thought silently to myself. We stepped out of the car, grabbed our bags, took one final look at ourselves in the car window, and walked through those horrorfying double doors making our way to the office. There were kids everywhere. Some were making out with their girlfriends at their locker, some were talking and walking with their friends, and others were just hanging around or moving to their first period classes. "This looks like a hell hole." I leaned over and whispered to Kailie. "Don't say that!" Snapped my mother. We finally made it to the office, and waited for assistance at the front desk. "Good morning Mrs. Baker! How is your beautiful self this fine morning?" "I'm just fine, Jessica. Thanks for asking." After about an hour, my mother and Jessica came out of the back room where all the new enrollments had to be done, and all the papers had to be filled out, copied, and filed. "Thanks again Jessica. Make sure my girls are treated right and better then even the most popular students here." With that, my mother handed us our schedules, kissed our foreheads, and walked out the doors. It was like knives being thrown into my ears to hear her heels clicking on the tile floor with every movement.
"So, ladies," I turned and saw a happy Jessica, big smile and all, "I'll be your director. So anything you need or want, just come to me. I've already spoken with all of your teachers. You have free class passes, free admission to anything and everything, you get to choose what you want for lunch everyday from anywhere, and here's your keys to your own golf carts. Any sport team you're welcome to join at anytime as well, and you have your own section in our teacher lounge for just you guys and any friends you make. I hope you find our school fitting to your standards." Our mouths dropped open. Were we really that high in society already? But hell, i wasn't complaining. "Thank you so much Jessica!" " You're more then welcome darlings, now please make your way to your first period class." With that we turned and fastly walked to our first class, Mr. Jacobs Advanced Algebra II.
