I woke up to someone knocking at the front door. I got out of bed and exited my room, walking towards it. When I opened it I saw an older man staring back at me.
"Hello?" I greeted.
"Hi, I didn't get Barry's address wrong did I?" He replied.
"Oh, no, you didn't I'm his roommate, Jaylyn." I introduced.
"Its nice to meet you Jaylyn. Barry wouldn't be home by chance would he?" He asked.
"I think he is. Come on in, I'll check if he's home real quick." I offered.
I opened the door as the man walked through, closing it behind him.
"I'll be right back" I replied.
I walked upstairs and knocked on Barry's door.
"Hey Barry, are you awake?" I asked.
He walked to the door and opened it.
"Yeah, what's up?" He replied.
"Someone's here to see you." I explained.
"Alright I'll be down in a minute." He replied.
He closed the door and a second later I heard a rush of wind flying around his room.
I walked downstairs to see the man looking at some pictures of Barry and a young dark-haired woman. I then noticed the similarities between her and the man.
"Do you know her?" I asked.
"Yes, I did. She was my daughter Iris. She passed away last year" He explained.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't know!" I apologized.
"Its okay, its hard loosing someone you love, isn't it?" He replied.
"It is. I know how you feel." I explained.
"You do/' He asked.
"I thought my brother was dead since I was three." I replied "He just recently got back in touch with me."
"Who's your brother?" He asked "If you don't mind me asking."
"Oliver Queen. He's actually the one who introduced me to Barry." I replied "How do you know Barry?"
"I took care of him since he was eleven" He replied "He's like a son to me."
The man turned to me.
"I'm sorry Jaylyn I just realized that I haven't introduced myself. Detective Joe West." He introduced sticking his hand out for me to shake.
"Its nice to meet you Detective West." I replied shaking his hand.
"Please call me Joe." He explained "If you don't mind me asking, how did you meet Barry?"
"Well, its a bit of a long story." I replied rubbing the back of my neck.
He sat down on the couch and patted a seat next to him.
"I think can keep up." He replied.
I sat down on the opposite end of the couch.
"Six months ago I found out that my parents lied to me for twenty years. They told me that Olly was dead and that I had allergies that caused me to stay inside all the time." I began "I got a letter from Caitlin Snow telling me that I didn't have my allergies. After confronting my parents, I decided to run away. Thats when I got a call from my brother. He told me he was alive."
A tear tricked down my cheek. I wiped it away before continuing.
"I got on a bus to meet him at Star Labs. Something, out of no where, speed in front of the road causing the bus to swerve. I hit my head hard on the seat in front of me which sent me into a coma. I woke up yesterday, six months later, in Star Labs. Where I met my brother fro the first time in twenty years as well as Barry." I finished.
