Jongup's POV
I paced back and forth, checking the clock for what felt likenthe hundredth time. Where could Leo be? He usually doesn't take this long! He said he would be back in a hour, but it's already been almost 2. A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts and I ran to answer it, my senses and my nerves both on edge. Who could it possibly be at this time of day?
When I open the door, the first thing I notice is that there are two very striking figures standing in front of me. They are both very tall, one dsrk and mysterious with brooding eyes and smells like cedar, the other has this cute but manly look, and his smell was like that of rain, calming yet impossible to ignore. I stood there staring and all thoughts of Leo leave my head. An electricity shot through my body and I could feel my eyes begin to change color. Wait.. why are my eyes glowing? That means... one of these guys must be my mate!? I looked up to study each of the two men and found both pairs of glowing eyes staring back at me. The one with mysterious and dark eyes now has his eyes glowing a silvery blue, and the one that has a cute but manly look has his eyes glowing a bright red. Wait. This can't be.. Two mates? Is it possible to have 2 mates? I mean it is incredibly rare for vampires to have two mates, but it is not unheard of."Uh, hello." I stumble over my words, causing the two mysterious men to chuckle. "What may I do for you?"
"Well, we did come just to ask for some directions to the nearest store, we are new in the area. However, I feel that we should introduce ourselves now. My name is Himchan, and this is my brother Yongguk. We just moved in down the road." They turned to each other, a telling look shared between the two.
"Never in a million years did we think that we would share a mate eh bro?" The man with silvery blue eyes, Himchan, is the one that speaks. I feel some of the tension leave my body, relief flooding through me. At least I know that these men won't try to hurt me.
"My name is Jongup. It is uncommon for us to have more than one mate, this should be interesting." The men nod in agreement.
"Yes, it should be. I do hope we are able to form a strong bond. If you couldn't tell, I am a fire vampire, and Himchan is a healing vampire." I nod my agreement to Yongguk's words.
"I hope to form a good bond as well, and yes, I could tell by your eyes." I let myself take in the full sight of the men for the first time, observing them carefully. They are both incredibly attractive, and I feel my eyes widen. The men are both wearing suits, and here I am dressed in sweatpants and an old, worn out shirt. I feel inferior, though I know that there is no real reason to be. Mates are known to never see each other as anything less than amazing. My thoughts are interrupted by the men chuckling.
"Is there anything you see that you like?" Himchan says, smirking. I look down, embarrassed at being caught staring, which causes the two of them to laugh. I pout a little at their laughter, but shrug it off after a few minutes.
"Sorry to be so blunt, but why do you smell like a warlock?" I bristle at the question, a frown settling deep into my features.
"Is there a problem with that? If you have an issue with it you can leave the area right now." The two seem shocked at my outburst, not suspecting my anger at the question.
"There's no problem with that, we were just simply curious as to why we smelled a warlock." I relax slightly at the answer, a small sigh of relief escaping me.
"Okay. The warlock you are smelling is my best friend Leo, he took me in when I was still very new to the supernatural world. He taught me how to navigate it. I owe him a lot for that, I don't think that I will ever be able to repay him for what he has done for me." I see Leo approaching over the shoulder of Yongguk and smile. "Speak of the devil and he shall come, as they say. Here he is now." Yongguk and Himchan turn their heads to see Leo, but Leo just pushes past them, stopping and standing by me.
"May I know what you two are doing here?" Leo's tone is abrupt, and I lightly tap him on the arm, silently telling him to be nicer. I can only hope that he understands what I am trying to tell him.
"Ah, we were just stopping by to see if we could get directions to the nearest store. However, things ended up getting a little bit more complicated than that." Yongguk is the one that answers Leo, with a tone that emits authority. It has no visible affect on Leo, however.
"What do you mean they got more complicated? Don't tell me..." Leo trails off, turning to look at me, taking in my glowing eyes for the first time. He turns back to Yongguk and Himchan, taking in their glowing eyes as well. He scoffs, disbelief radiating off of him.
"Don't take too long. I'll be inside. Jongup, come talk to me when you're done here." I nod, and Leo walks inside quickly. I turn back to Yongukk and Himchan.
"Sorry about him, he's very protective. He doesn't want me to get hurt."
"There's no need to be sorry, we can understand why he's that way. We would be the same way." I smile appreciatively.
"Oh, you still need directions to the store! I'm sorry I forgot about that!" They both shrug it off.
"It's no big deal, obviously something more important came up." Himchan says with a slight smirk. I giggle a little bit at that, nodding my agreement.
"Yeah, I suppose something did." I spend the next few minutes telling them how to get to the store from here, and they smile and thank me before turning to walk away.
"Wait!" Both of them turn back towards me. "I need a way to contact you. I don't want you just showing up here at random times, I might not be home." They both laugh at that before each of them reaches for one of my arms, taking markers from their pockets. I feel them write what I imagine are phone numbers on my arms, each one slightly different. Yongguk and Himchan both lift my hands to their face, placing gentle kisses on them before allowing them to drop back to my sides. I smile, and they turn to leave again. This time, I let them. I stand there with the door open until they are out of sight before finally closing the door, resting my back against it. It was certainly an interesting day.
I walk into the living room to see Leo resting on the couch, fingers tracing something on his arm. I don't think anything of it, sitting in the chair next to the couch.
"Two mates Jongup. Really? You have two mates." Leo's voice is quiet, his tone solemn.
"Yes. That is correct."
"That's almost unheard of. What does it mean?"
"You act like I would know. There isn't an explanation available for it right now, and you know it."
"Sorry." I can sense that something is off with him, and I don't like it.
"What's going on Leo? Did something happen at the store that you aren't telling me?" Leo looks at me, a soft smile on his face.
"Yeah, you could say that. I met my mate as well today." I gasp, it seems highly unlikely for both of us to meet our mates on the same day.
"What's he like? How are you going to meet him again?"
"He wrote his number on my arm. I'll give him a call in a couple days. His name is Hakyeon, he's not quite as tall as me, but he's quite close. He's maybe 3 centimeters shorter than me is all." Leo smiled
"And? What kind of warlock is he? Or is he not a warlock?"
"He's an ice warlock." Leo replied. I stop at that.
"Kinda ironic, huh?" I said plopping down next to him on the couch. Leo nodded.
"I have a fire vampire and a healing vampire as mates. Go figure. A water warlock and a fire warlock. It will certainly be interesting." Another nod from Leo.
"Yeah. What are their names, I wasn't able to catch them."
"The one that had silvery blue eyes was Himchan and the one with red eyes was Yongguk."
"I'll be keeping an eye on them, just so you are aware." I chuckle.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
