Unfortunate Love

Alice

          "Hey Tom." I sipped my coffee
As I walked into my Uncle's shop.            "Yo, Alice come look at this". He said, not looking up from his sketch.

   "What is it" I looked down at it. "I dont know, something called a "bold hunters mark" " he said making sure to emphasize the name.

   I picked up the reference picture
"Hmm well it looks bad ass". I turned the picture in my fingers and saw some sort of writing on the back.

Bloodborn

    It said in fancy writing. "Hey Tom what's Bloodborn?" Putting the picture back down I walked over to a chair and plopped down. " I have no idea but the client is supposed to be here at noon, do you think you can cover this one? Please I know that's your break but I have to meet your dad to hel...."

   "Yeah yeah I will " cutting him off and rolling my eyes i picked up a magazine. It was advertising some sort of makeup. I turned the page to how to get the perfect summer body you've always wanted and right on the next page was 15 simple recipes for the perfect cake.

   Already getting bored of that I put the magazine down and started playing on my phone. My stomach started to hurt so I turned my phone off and leaned my head back.

   "Hey, Alice wake up I gotta go."
I opened one eye to my uncle buttoning his jacket. I sighed, wiped drool off my cheek and got up. Walking over to the front desk I tripped on the shops pet cat, Lucifer.

  Glaring at the cat I sat down and rested my cheek on my hand. "Don't destroy the place" he said putting on his hat. He walked out the door and poked his head back in with a pleading look " and please be nice to the clients, I know it's hard a lot of them are assholess but please."
   "Ok I will." I watched him leave, already knowing this as it was said a thousand times before.

   I mean that only happened once...twice.... five times maybe? Whatever it's not like I try to be rude. They say something offensive and what am I supposed to do? Just sit there and let the piss me off? No I don't think so.

  I reached up and pulled my long gold hair out of the messy bun it was in letting it fall over my shoulders as someone walked in.
   My jaw almost ligit dropped as the man looked about the same age as me, with dark brown hair on the sides and a poof of green on top.

  "Good job Jack. You did well"
I heard ambassador Charles say as I finished slitting this scumbags throat. " You most certainly will be earning the mark soon" I smirked at those words, letting the body fall to the ground.

   "Hell yeah I better be. I've worked my ass off for 16 years I think it's about time."  I watched ambassador Charles start to clean up the bloody mess I've made. "Go enjoy yourself Jack I shall pick this up for you"

   "Thanks" I used my vampire skills to jump off the building roof we were on. Hiding in the shadows I made my way to base. Avoiding all eyes I pulled my hood up and walked with my head down.

   "Fuck" i said under my breath as I saw two figures following me. I cut into a allyway and started to make a portal to base. I felt a sharp pain on my side as I was kicked into a wall.

   "That hurt." I said as a popped my neck and knuckels. "Well its gonna hurt even more when this knife" he lifted up a silver dagger "goes into your face".
   I laughed and kicked the guys chest sending him into the other one, Wich spared me time. I finished making the portal before they got up and hopped into it, closing it behind me.

   I landed right in base and walked into my "house". More like small dump I lived in with my father. I pulled a black rose out of a vase. "Where have you been" I heard my father say. "Dealing with a robbery" I replied and started to walk back out of the door.

   "Your sure to get the mark soon. Keep it up" I stopped and turned around to see my father wiping his hands with a towel. "Yeah" I said slowly. "I sure hope so" I said and closed the door before he could say anything else.

   I looked at the rose and sighed. Walking around ths house and making my way into the woods. Stopping at a large carved stone that said

   I knelt down and placed the rose on the grave. I sighed and sat down next to it with my arms rested on my knees. Closing my eyes I put my head back on a tree and bit my lip.
   "I miss you mom" (I know that's not her real name so don't give me shit for that) "I miss you so much. You were the only one who actually understood me.
    "You would be so proud of me now. I'm sure I'm going to get the mark soon, I can feel it." I silently laughed. "Finally. I'm almost 19 now so I would hope so. Well I have to go now mom but I love you and I miss you so much"

    I stood up and glanced at the grave. Feeling tears coming I quickly left. Feeling a sudden urge to get to the base capitol I made a portal and jumped in it.
     I was greeted by the clan leaders and my father. "Welcome Jack"
"Uh...hi"feeling super confused. "I-i mean. Hello" "We summoned you here to congratulate you, for we are giving you the right to have your mark."

    "Woah...nuh uh. Really?" I said before I could stop it. " Yes we have been rather impressed with your work lately. Also you may want to be informed, you are the youngest member to ever receive your mark."
   Im so shook. And so exited! I grind widely. Oh wait till I tell Mom! My smile slowly faded after I thought that.

   "Your appointment is at noon today so be ready" I smiled again and shook my head as they told me the place.

    I t was now exactly noon and I looked at the place again. This is where I'm supposed to be? It's rather small. Eh whatever. I walked in and looked up to see a girl with gold hair and bright blue grey eyes. She was taking her hair out and I watched as it fell around her shoulder perfectly. Holy shit
