Love in the past

The past (pt.1)

(Kenzie is the girl in this story, Alex is the boy. This is them when they were eight and nine)

"Daddy" Kenzie jumped into her dads arms and gave him a big hug.

(Oh my bad, Kenzie's dad is A Navy seal and gone a lot but he always finds time to spend with his family. Actually that's how Kenzie's parents met, her mom Karen was a nurse and her dad John came by for a little checkup they fell in love the minute they seen each other. Back to the story)

"My little pumpkin" Kenzie shook her head "no daddy I'm your big pumpkin I'm eight" John smiled "well then who will be my little pumpkin" Kenzie smiled with her two front teeth missing "well me of course, I'm both" "oh your both aren't you" *giggles* "yes sir" "well what about me" Karen tickled Kenzie "you can be daddy's big pumpkin too" they all laughed.

"Alex, dinner time" Jenna Alex's mom called out in the kitchen. "Coming mommy" Alex coughed and then said in a very light low voice "I mean... mom" Jenna laughed "are you to old to call me mommy" Jenna shuffled Alex's hair
"Yes mom..." Alex trying very hard not to say mommy "I mean mom I'm mature now I'm nine and Kenzie looks up to me." Jenna gave Alex a sweet smile.

(Alex's father and mother split up when he was five he would be very sad if it weren't for Kenzie. She is the one who is holding him together. They are very important to each other.)

"Hurry up if your wanting to go over to the Robinson's" (AKA Kenzie's house) Alex started drinking the soup faster and faster he had it all over his mouth. "All done mommy" Jenna smiles "what happened to mom" Alex shrugged "Kenzie's not around and it was getting really hard not to say mommy" Jenna smiles one last time before Alex is half way out the door running to the Robinsons house (his next door neighbors)

Alex bangs on the door "woah, slow down kid" "sorry mr. Robinson"

"ALEX!" Kenzie comes up and gives Alex a huge hug. "It took you long enough" Kenzie says throwing her hands up. "Sorry my mommy.... mom made her awesome veggie soup" "and you know how I love that" "yeah that's true you love your soup" Kenzie says smiling. "You ready to play dinosaurs take over Barbie land" Alex says out of breath " of course I am" Kenzie turns around and starts to run to her room and not short after so does Alex.

Jenna walks through the door just when they shut Kenzie's door. Karen walks up and gives Jenna a hug soon after so does John. "So how are things, have you told him yet?" Karen frowns at Jenna. "From the looks of it I'm going to say no" said John "He's just going to be so heartbroken, I mean Kenzie means everything to him" Jenna's eyes get watery "do you want us to tell Kenzie or do you think we should let him tell her" Jenna frowns even bigger "I think we should let him tell her after all they both are so important to each other." "When are you going to tell him" tears start to come down her face "I don't know, but soon I have to" Karen gives her friend another hug knowing she needs it. "Don't worry he'll understand" Karen said loosing her voice "yes, and he can come over on holidays." John said following his wife "you guys are right, you know maybe he'll love being in the city" Karen frowned "I can't believe Alexander is making him move all the way to New York from California" Karen said annoyed "yeah and the city will be very different from here" John said also looking annoyed

Jenna looked up disappointed "it's all the way
Across the country" Karen looked at Jenna who had tears in her eyes she was about to say something but Alex walked out he looked over at the three standing there "mommy your here" Jenna smiled "I'm here" Jenna said sniffling "where is Kenzie" "oh she is getting all of the girl barbies dressed she didn't want me to see she said it was a girl thing" they all laughed except Alex he didn't understand
