Chapter 4: Choir Disaster

**Niall's POV

I may be an idiot but I'm not stupid. Josh knows about my crush on Zayn and so do the rest of my friends. But that doesn't mean he pretends I asked Zayn and Harry to lunch. Lord help me through this lunch. But how can I when Zayn looks hotter than before!?!

"Earth to Niall! Your man is coming!", I heard Louis say. He has a crush on Harry so he decided to come to school today.

"Shut up Lou!", I said blushing.

"Hey guys!", Zayn said walking over to our table and I saw some girls checking him out. Damn them!

"Hey Zayn, uh you can sit here", I said

pointing to the seat in front of me.

"Alright", he said placing his tray down. I'm so smart having him sit in front so I can stare at him. Easy Niall easy....

"So, I just want to say sorry for ignoring you after 9th grade, its just my dad's been on my ass about school and he pretty much wants me out the house now since graduation is next week", I said.

"It's cool Niall, you don't have to apologize", Zayn said.

Why is he so forgiving and yet its been eating at me for years!

"So how are your aunt and uncle?", I asked.

"Their good", he said. And I saw a sparkle in his eye I never seen before.

Was is lust? No it can't be, Zayn is gay yeah but I don't think he would like me. I mean I have the worst teeth in the world and I'm so pale Casper the Ghost looks like my brother.

I stared into his golden brown eyes and he did the same looking into my blue ones.

"Hey lovebirds! I'm getting ice cream from the vending machine, want any its my treat?", Josh asked interrupting our uh moment....??

"Sure", Zayn and I said in unison.

"Creepy", Josh said walking away.

**Zayn's POV

I'm so weirded out right now. Niall is showing some interest in me and I'm glad I haven't made a total fool of myself.

Plus Louis and Harry seem to be getter closer so everything's going great so far...

Niall then gets up to throw his trash out and I sense that he's going to slip and I quickly get up and catch him and his tray.

"Nice reflexes! Thanks", he said smiling.

"No problem", I said going back to my seat where Josh, Louis, and Harry are staring at me.

"What?", I asked.

"Dude! That was awesome!", Harry said.

"I didn't even know what I did until after, it happened so fast", I said still oblivious.

"Oh, here's your ice cream..hero", Josh said handing me an ice cream sandwich and Niall a Spongebob one when he came back.

The bell rang for us all to head to 5th period and Niall and I had Choir. I may be a science nerd but I also have a strong passion for singing and performing on stage once in a while.

"Hey Z wait up!", I heard Niall say as I left the caf with Harry.

He called me Z. He used to when we were close and I guess that's a sign he wants to be friends again...

"Yeah?", I asked my heart beating fast from him calling me Z.

"Wanna walk to class together? Just like old times?", he asked hope shining through his blue eyes.

"Sounds ok", I said.

"Cool", he said smiling.

"Bye lovebirds!", I heard Harry say with Louis next to him.

"Same to you!", I said winking at him.

What a arse...

In the middle of Summer of '69 I felt the same feeling when Niall was about the fall in the cafeteria.

This time I felt the choir directors stick thingy about the land on Chad, the lead of the song before I go after him for the harmonies.

It almost reaches him and I zoom towards him in a flash and grab it before it pokes Chad in the eye.

What the hell?!?!?

*Gasps* and the whole room goes silent.

"Uh....thanks Zayn...", he said gobsmacked.

"Sorry, I have to go, sorry to disturb the class", I said rushing out the door.

"Zayn wait!", I heard Niall as he ran to catch up to me.

"Stay back, I don't wanna hurt you", I said scared.

"Z, its ok you did nothing wrong back there", Niall said calmly touching my arm as I slid down a locker and sat on the floor.

"I scared everyone in there!", I said.

"Yeah but you saved Chad!", Niall said sitting beside be.

"Look Zayn, I saw you fall on the radioactive energy at NYU but I didn't say anything because you lookd fine but maybe you got superpowers after!", Niall said.

What the actual fuck is happening!!??

"So your saying I got SUPERPOWERS from falling on glass!", I said raising my voice.

"Radioactive glass...", Niall said patting my shoulder.

"OW, the fuck?!", Niall yelled flapping his hand.

"What happened?!", I asked scared.

"Your hot!", he yelled.

"I know..", I said smirking. Where did that come from?

"No really Zayn your actually hot, I touched your arm and it burned!", Niall said.

"Are you scared of me now?", I asked putting my head down in shame.

"No, I'm going to help you get through this", he said sincerely.

"Thanks Ni", I said.

"No problem, we should probably tell the guys, they should know too", he said.

"Alright, I wonder how Josh is going to react", I said getting up with him.

"Same", Niall said as we left for 6th period.

I'm not in the mood for Spanish right now, then again who ever is?!!
