The Very First Lantern

The Lights of Hope

It was 6:30 pm. "I haven't done this before ...I need your help Lara's friend" with a blushed face said Shaurya. "Tiya...."she said and continued"....Yeah sure I'll help you...it's a piece of cake dear". "Really?...Let's do it then" he said with an excited face. "No no not yet ....let it get even more darker...and gather everyone". "Hey hey people gather around".Shaurya suddenly yelled which scared Tiya...and he continued"Oops! Sorry to scare you". He winked.
"So Lara...what do you do?"asked Allen by slowly walking towards the point where Shaurya asked to gather. "Um...I am a fasion designer. I have my own boutique. I do design wedding dresses..you know like ball gowns and Lahengas". She said with her hands folded as it was a chilled weather then. "Haha you should have told before. I have dressed like an ostler". He replied by examining himself. "Haha you are witty..I think you have a great fasion sense". She winked and walked towards Tiya. Allen too followed her.

"Hey....I um....uh...." the vomitted girl started to speak but that's when Ayaan interrupted and said "No that's okay...you need not to say sorry".
She suddenly got lost into somewhere...staring deep at his hazel eyes. Then she blinked her eyes faster and came in to her senses and said "No I wanted to call you as everyone is gathered there....it's almost time". Ayaan scratched his head and pulled up his eyebrows and said "Oh yeah...after you". When she turned and started to move he hit his forehead out of embarrassment and slowly followed her.
Shaurya examined the packet  of sky lantern given to him. They all gathered around and wrote their wishes on their lanterns. Shaurya tried to sneak Allen's but he turned and wrote....Shaurya stood in confusion of what to write....and suddenly he too started to scribble something. Ayaan wrote his wish and slowly raised his head up to look at her. She was writing something with a very hopeful face and was ready to let go. But then as a contrary to his belief she looked him back and saw him looking at her. "Damn...she saw!!" He said in his mind. Left with no other option he smiled and she smiled back too.... He was really feeling something. Something that even he can't explain. The feeling that he never felt before. He saw a very positive and cool aura around her body. Her smile made that shield even more wider. He could feel the positive vibe that she had been giving off since the very first time they met.
He looked down and read his wish written on his lantern and drew a heart on it ....with a very hopeful smile in his face.
Everybody took their lighters and started to fire the stiff collar of lantern which suspends the flame. "Why isn't my cell lighting up?" Shaurya asked with a sad pout. "Hahah wait little heart.....it will take some seconds". Tiya said with a consoling smile.

They all on the count of "three.......two......one let it fly" let the lanterns free with closed eyes and crossed fingers. Shaurya made a group hug with the duo. Ayaan looked at her once again....she with her friends was trying to find her lantern in the sky. A face of happiness ....a face of hope.
