Skeletons

I pray my tears would fill the rivers
I wish your screams would wake the dead
I hope your bodies revive with life

It's like hearts have turned to stone
Why pit brother against brother?
Your kith and kin

This body aches so I ache
A pain skin-deep and sore
Rather flesh and bone

Skin stretched against bones
Until it is no more
Innocents lost

Don't you dare turn away
Their rasped voices are calling
But no aid for miles

Who to rely on?
When their own brothers have failed them
Their mothers collecting dust

One plea emanates from me
The least you can do:
Pray for their salvation
