Chapter 7

Shawn woke up the next morning from the sound of his alarm. He was confused at first but realized it was his alarm for school. He sighed heavily as he had totally forgotten about school and really did not want to go. He got up and put some skinny jeans on and a long white sleeve shirt on. He styled his hair quickly to look more tidy and then brushed his teeth and went down stairs.

His sister was already ready, surprisingly. He sat across from her at the bench and had some cereal.

"Shawn, Camilla said she can't pick you up today as she has to be in school early for some work or something. She called because she was scared you hadn't got her text message" He said and Shawn realized he had not checked his phone this morning.

"Thanks, Is it raining?" He said after looking outside to realize it was quite cloudy today.

"It's very soft but it could start pouring, sucks for you because my friend is picking me up" She said poking her tongue out.

"Do you think she could also take me?" Shawn asked

"No sorry, the car will be full" She said and Shawn sighed.

He got up and ran back up the stairs and entered his room. He looked through the wardrobe for a rain jacket but for some reason he could not find one. He then looked for an umbrella which he thankfully found. He then went to his phone to check it and saw the text from Camilla.

Camilla: Hey Shawn, sorry I can't pick you up today, hopefully you get to school safe hehe x

Shawn: All goods, have a good day x

And with that he was about to go back down stairs but he saw he had a few text messages from Nick. One was from 5am.

Nick: Hey Shawnie, I know it's early but I'm having trouble sleeping lol.

Shawn then saw that he had actually texted him 15 minutes ago, most likely when he was downstairs.

Nick: Hey man, I noticed it was quite gloomy today, do you wanna ride to school?

Shawn was so happy. He really needed a ride to school and it was by someone who he was very much interested in at the moment.

Shawn: Hey man, that would be much appreciated.

Nick: Nice, I'll drive outside of your house and pick you up?

Shawn: Yeap

Nick: Okay see ya soon.

Shawn then tidied him self up and put on some cologne he had brought for $18. It was kind of cheap smelling but he liked it. He just knew that some of his friends didn't like it. Especially Camilla.

He ran down stairs and saw that his sister had already left. He had a quick look in the mirror just before the front door of the house to check if he was good. He hated his act at the moment. He didn't like having that "Oh I like you but I don't care about you" Vibe but he had too. Nick was already taken and the last thing Shawn wanted on his record was being a homewrecker despite Nick and Hailey not being married or having kids.

He heard a beep outside and opened the front door to see Nick waiting outside in his car, he rolled down the window and flashed Shawn a quick wink. Shawn then slowly jogged out to the car. He hoped in and immediately smiled at Nick.

"You're looking good today man" Nick said as he started up the car.

"Thanks" He said looking looking at what Nick was wearing and it got him hot. He had a white dress shirt on that stuck to all his muscles. His arms could easily rip through the sleeves if he moved to fast. They were just that big. He was wearing deep navy pants with a black tie. He had his hair styled neatly.

"So why you dressed up" Shawn said laughing and Nick laughed back.

"I'm a business man believe it or not" He said and Shawn laughed.

"Oh yeah? what do you do?" Shawn asked hoping to call out Nick on his bluff.

"I'm a representative for a company. My job mainly consists of me picking up the phone and taking any complaints on any products or I will try to sell products." He said and now Shawn slightly believed him.

"Oh wow, sounds exciting" He said and Nick drove of and smiled.

'Very boring job but I get decent money. How about you? You Working at all?" Nick asked.

"Uhm no." He said a little embarrassed as a lot of his friends and school peers are working part time.

"All goods. I only had a part time job at your age because my dad got it for me, he made me work for him at his auto repair shop" 

"Oh nice" Shawn replied trying to keep his eyes of Nicks arms.

"By the way, I'm sorry about my behavior recently man. Just a mixture of loneliness and being horny, my girl got home around 6 and well she fixed the problems" Nick said laughing and Shawn forced out a fake laugh. The idea of Nick making love to someone else pissed him off. He was actually growing very uncomfortable because now all that he could think about was him and Hailey and it pissed him of.

"Yeah, you were quite direct" Shawn said fake laughing and Nick laughed back.

"Yeah I normally am, You're a cute guy but it was wrong of me. You're to young for me and you don't need a man in your life at the moment anyway." He said and Shawn just sat there uncomfortably swallowing this hard to swallow pill.

"Oh so i'm assuming you go to Saint Gilletes?" Nick said and Shawn nooded.

"Nice, I remember when I went here. Fuck I hated school." He said and Shawn laughed.

They then pulled up in front of the school and Nick parked. Shawn flipped down the little mirror in the car to just fix up small details about himself. This whole time Nick was smiling at him.

"Dude you look fine, just get to school" He said laughing.

"I have to look good. You never know what will happen in a day in life and maybe I have someone to meet." He said and Nicks smile became skewed but Shawn just felt that that might of been normal.

"Well you look good. Quick I gotta get to my job" He said and Shawn hoped out.

"Thanks for the ride Nick" Shawn said and Nick smiled. He then drove of.

Shawn was walking into school and just entered the corridor when he saw his best friend Camilla.

"OMG SHAWNIE" she said and Shawn laughed. They then hugged.

"Omg I haven't seen you in so long" She said and Shawn smiled.

"It's only been a few days" He said and Camilla smiled.

"Omg who cares. I have some news. So there is going to be a party this weekend at Selena's and she has invited me and guess who is going to be my plus one?" She said and Shawn sighed expecting it to be some random boy

"Who?" She said and Camilla smiled

"You silly"

"Ohhh. I'm not to good with parties, in fact, I've never been to a party" He replied.

"Don't worry, I will look after you and keep you safe. Please just come" She said and Shawn stood there thinking. The school bell for first period went and heaps of people then started to go to class.

"Fine i'll go"
