Mated To The Enemy

Chapter 3

  As we reached the bottom of the stairs i realized that my mom was in fact right the guest were arriving , but what she failed to mention was that most of the pack members and what i assume to be some neighbouring pack members i assumed as i seen a few unfimiliar  faces were in fact already here and lingering around the house.

  "Looks like the neighbouring packs have arrived, and might i add for your benefit of course they are totally hot" analise spoke with amusement confirming my previous thoughts.

  "Yea , I just want to get this over with , hopefully my supposed 'mate' isn't a douche or someone i hate" i said with a hint of worry laced in my voice.

  As if reading my mind my bestfriend pulled me into a brief hug before speaking "Don't worry Berk, it will be fine unless you're like cursed by the moons goddess and you end up with Blake Ryder as mate" she said teasingly in an attempt to lift my mood.

  "Oh , god no that would be the worst thing ever considering our history. I don't know how i'd react let alone live." i stated dramatically as my friend just chuckled at my dramatic rambling.

  "Come on lets find you a mate, so you and i can double date." she rushed out excitedly. Amused by my bestfriends excitment i allowed her to drag me into the sea of people currently talking anametdly around all areas of the house.

  "Hey, i think i see Garrett do you ..um mind if i...." before she could finish i cut off with a slightly amused smirk telling her i knew exactly what she getting at.

  "Go ahead i'll be fine promise enjoy your night and have fun " i stated wiggling my brows suggestively.

  "Oh jeesh Berk when did you become such a perv" she said with mock seriousness. Before i could respond she was already headed in the direction of Garrett. 'My bestfriend is extremely rude sometimes' i thought to myself as i made my way to slightly deserted area of the house ,hence the back yard. Besides a few mated wolves making out on the lawn it was mostly quiet and peaceful.

  Walking to take a seat on one the patio chairs i smelled the same scent from earlier today it was faint but it was there and my wolf was immediately alert as to the pressence of her mate.

 

   Before i could investigate any further a light tap on my shoulder from behind caused me to snap back to reality and spin around. I was then greeted by a really nice looking guy he had blonde shaggy hair, pale green eyes , perfect whit teeth , lips that looked totally kissible might i add, He had a dark v neck on that really defined his obvious muscles underneath. I could tell he had some type of title because he reaked of power that would make any other bow down  im his pressence. I on the other hand being an alphas daughter and all was unaffected by the power he was emanating.

  "Like what you see?" the mysterious guy asked with a full blown smirk snapping be out of my ogling state.

  "Wha...What?" i stumbled out slightly embarrassed that i had been caught staring for however long.

  "It's alright i mean , who wouldn't stare at a sexy beast with a body like mine" he stated teasingly causing my cheek to become red im sure as a blush made it's way onto my face.

   "Im Carter, Carter Michaels future Alpha of The Moonlight Warriors Pack" he said outstretching his hand for me to shake. Taking it hesitantly i replied.

"Im Berkley, Berkley Rivers future Luna of The Silver Moon Pack" i said with a small smile

   "I figured as much, it's just too bad I'm not your mate, you are truly beautiful" he said with a full smile.

  "Um...yea..you seem really nice and charming" i said shyly. As if seeing my uneasiness he sent me a small smile before replying. "Well that doesn't stop us from becoming friends ey?" he asked waiting for my response.

'i mean guys and girls can be friend right?' i thought to myself before responding.

  " Uh, yea sure ,friends sounds nice" i said fiddling with my phone in my hand. "Well how about we exchange numbers and maybe hang out sometime?" he asked cheekily.

  After exchanging numbers and a quick goodbye we immediatly parted ways. I was now standing in the middle of my living room fourty-five minutes later with the buzz of loud conversations ringing through out the entire house. But i was focused on one thing, one person , one awful truth and one awful fate ,my 'mate' frozen to the spot as i failed to come to terms as to why the moon goddess would curse me with such fate.
