Stunned, I stared at the open letter, for Tamerou (one of my father's servants and co-workers) who had grudgingly handed me it over, after I had used every persuasion on him.
Panic flooded me and I read the writing again and again.
That could not be true, right?
Sheer unbelievable rage boiled in me, my violet big eyes glittered wildly with anger.
"Miss, are you all right?", Tamerou stuck his head in my room to check on me, his dark hair visible from the door gab and he instantly fell silent when he saw me.
He was already more than familiar with such tantrums that were obviously in the family with us."You should talk to your dad!," he said in a smart and very calm tone, which was only too familiar to me.
Since this was the last thing I wanted to do now, my gaze fell back to the white-gold envelope and the name/address which was pictured there."He would not want to talk to me about it", I sighed sadly. Tamerou gave me an encouraging smile, as he always did. "He needs you now, probably more than you think!"
I tentatively knocked on the large white door of fine mahogany that led to my father's spacious office.
"Come in!", came the prompt answer and I dropped onto the gray chair in front of my father's desk."Ayaka. What's the matter?" I looked at my father silently, after a short time of reflection I handed him the open letter.
"You should have told me, Dad!" Kobayashi-san incredulously accepted the letter.
"Ayaka..."
I did not let him finish and interrupted with a crimson face."Since you've shown me how to run a business properly, how to manage financially, how to engage in conversations, how to get a good edge on yourself, how to keep your face in front of the camera, and much more...I always helped you quite good, didn't I?
It is my destiny to continue this here (she made a sweeping gesture that included the entire space)!
That's why it's not accessible for me why you kept me out of this one, her finger now pointed to the letter, why you wanted to hide something this important from me?"Kobayashi-san sighed heavily, although he did not show it, he was visibly impressed by the little speech his daughter just said.
"I know that sooner or later you would find out, Ayaka. But I did not want to burden you with it for the time being ... ", he said indifferent."Then it's true then? ", Ayaka's voice trembled slightly.
"This company is responsible that we will lose everything soon?"
Her father's eyes hardened and his face became emotionless.
"It will not come that far. We are still far from being defeated, we are the third largest corporation in the world, so easy I will not let myself be stamped in the ground by this bastard...!"Ayaka nodded slowly and a shiver ran down her spine, she hated when her father talked like this, although she could understand why.
Of course, her father was a fighter! Both her parents were like this and she inherited this willpower from them.
"I'll help you where I can!" I promised and gave him a kiss on the forehead before disappearing from his office.Igarashi!
Every one of my thoughts was about that one name.
That's my enemy!

Hey and here I am again! Yes, I did not want to do the prologue that short either, sorry about that, the next chapters are promised longer;) Oh yes, at the top of the initial or cover picture (no idea if you call it that) should represent Tamerou. And if you want to know how I imagine Ayaka, here are the pictures:(I want an anime girl with long (honey) brown hair and purple eyes, but do not really get the desired result😅 well the first picture fits quite well with my idea of her)
