Edges

I was on the edge of a bridge.

Time meant nothing,

Tears flooded my eyes,

As I remembered her.

I was on the edge of the bottle.

A few pills popped,

The ghost pains were alleviated in body,

But not in mind.

I was on the edge of denial.

The white-coat's word danced in and out of focus,

Dread and regret filled me.

She could have still been mine.

I was on the edge of death.

Love melting away along with time.

Red danced in my vision,

And horror in my memories.

I was on the edge of love.

It began when I first saw her.

I had high hopes for us,

That died along with her.
