I smiled to myself as I walked down the halls to go out to lunch. I felt someone grab my arm but I just ignored it since I was deep in thought.
"Riley... Hellooo?? Earth to Riley?!?" said a voice, belonging to one of my best friends Maya.
"Hm? Oh! Sorry!" I laughed, snapping out of it.
"Yeah, Hi." she replied. "Anyways, so Sam and I were going to take Valerie to the winter fair because she has no......"
I tuned out beginning to think about Zach again.
I just nodded and smiled at Maya as we walked outside to make it seem like I was listening.
I then stopped thinking about Zach and walked over to our bench that we usually sit on.
"Riley! It feels like I haven't seen you for ages." said Alex.
"You were literally just in my class Alex..." I replied, picking at my salad.
"Yeah..." laughed Valerie, beside him.
"Hi Riley, hi Alex, hi Valerie, hi Maya." smiled Shay, approaching the bench with Taylor and Sam.
We all said our 'hi's back and I continued to eat my lunch with Taylor and Maya beside me.
"This salad is trash..." I mumbled getting up and putting it in the trash, Maya following.
I turned around and was about to head back to the bench when I feel someone tap my shoulder.
I turned around to see a beaming Zach with my glasses held up.
"Hey pretty lady, would you like your glasses back now?" he asked.
I laughed and so did Maya and everyone on our bench and Zach's.
"So that's why you haven't got your glasses on!" laughed Maya.
It kinda weirded me out knowing that she paid such attention to things like that but I just ignored it and look back at Zach.
"They're only for reading, but yeah thanks.." I smiled, taking them back.
He looked down, and then returned to my eyes with the same adorable smile.
"So, uh... you wanna sit with me?" asked Zach.
I looked back at my bench to see a jealous Alex, making me feel guilty.
"Yo, Sam what's up bro?" smiled Zach, giving him a bro hug. "I haven't talked to you since football practice last summer why'd you drop out?"
I debated sitting with Zach or not whilst whispering with Maya.
"I don't know what to do... Alex looks salty." I whispered.
"He always does, just do it! Alex can sit with you every other day!"
"Riley?" asked Zach, I looked back at him mising the first half of the question.
"Yo, guys? Get your stuff we're moving benches today!" I laughed.
Everyone moved over to Zach's bench apart from Alex.
I felt kinda guilty at first but I just blocked it out and sat in the middle of Zach and Shay.
"Who are all these dudes?" I asked, Zach.
"Yo, introduce yourselves then you big dweebs!" laughed Zach.
"I'm Corbyn. You're sisters boyfriend, duh." laughed Corbyn.
"Well yeah, I already know you. I'm talking about ramen noodles over here, and Mr Shy!" I replied, indicating the two boys next to him.
The curly haired boy laughed and so did Zach.
"Dang she got it already, bro!" yelled Zach.
"I'm Jack, and I get called that a lot." he smiled.
"Yeah and Mr Shy is Daniel." said Zach.
"Hi Daniel." I smiled.
"Hi." he smiled back, and then continued watching a music video.
"And Hi..." I trailed off as the other guy looked up.
"Jonah." he smiled.
"That's a cute name..." said Shay.
"I love your curls, Jack..." hummed Valerie.
Zach and I flashed eachother a look as all of our friends started to flirt.
"Ugh, is this literally a dating show?" I laughed.
"I guess." he shrugged. "But I got my date already."
