(Harley's POV)
"Mom, what's going on? You've been avoiding me all day."
"I... have a surprise for you."
"I know I'm literally back from the dead, but you don't need to give anything since all of my stuff is still here."
"I technically didn't get you anything."
Suddenly, someone pounded on the door.
"Who's that?"
"It's your surprise.", my mom states as she swiftly walks to the door.
"Come on in guys."
"Guys?", I thought to myself. I got up from the living room area and went to the hallway that leads to the door. I see a group of people standing there and at first I didn't realize who it was until he looked up at me.
"Hi Harley... I've mi-"
"No."
"Harley...", my mom said gently, trying to reason with me, but, I cut her off.
"Mom, no. I don't want to see them."
"Harley please.", Jack said.
"He's been broken without you", Corbyn added.
"Did you ever consider what I wanted maybe?", I snap.
"At least talk to him.", Jonah says softly.
Daniel stood there looking at the floor the whole time, not saying anything since he first tired. I stormed up to my room, ignoring them all trying to call me back down. Except for Daniel.
(Daniel's POV)
I couldn't say anything after she had shut me down. I just stared at the ground, thinking of what to say, but nothing came to mind. My head snapped up when she went to her room as everyone else yelled her name.
"I'm sorry boys.", Ms. Dorré said sadly.
"We tried Dani. She doesn't want to see us. Let's go.", Zach says.
"No. I'm going upstairs and I'll wait for her.", I say, trying to hold back tears that threatened to fall down my face.
"But Dan-", Jack starts as I cut him off.
I walk up to her bedroom door and knock.
"Go away.", I hear her say as she sniffles.
"No. I'm not leaving you until you hear what I have to say. Ever since I met you at the concert, I knew there was a connection. When I finally asked you out, you made me one of the happiest people alive by saying yes. We spent so much time together and you had finally started opening up to the idea of going out in public without the fear of hurting others. I never wanted to end things off with you in the first place, but I thought it's what you wanted. I was never truly happy with Eliza. I only ever wanted you. I only dated her because my manager wanted good press. If it were up to me, the relationship wouldn't have happened. When you died, I felt like I was being torn apart. I thought I would never see you again, but here I am today talking to you at your house. It's been a year and not once did I stop loving you. I will never stop loving you. Please come out."
The door slowly opened and Harley wiped her tears. I hugged her and she hesitantly hugged me back. I look in her eyes and I could tell there was something wrong.
"What is it?", I say confused.
"I can't do this. I can't do us right now."
"Oh.", I say disappointedly.
"But, we can work on our friendship again."
"That's fine with me."
Even though she said we can be friends, her words rang in my head.
"I can't do us right now."
