Soraru's P.O.V.~
Bergman has been passed out for approximately 129 hours and 47 minutes. For a moment I was frightened that I might have killed her, but she eventually awoke. But ever since she started her time here as property, I have been monitoring the actions of the Shiroi Kishi ever since then. Say, I'm pretty disappointed of their work ethics. The first week had passed by... they have gotten nowhere.
While watching, I felt sorry for the girl. Her own domain organization went on several days without talking about her- not a single word. Not even a single plan. How could they betray one of their own?
But then I learned.
That that was how the mafia works.
One day, through the camera's audio, I heard a probable conversation about how the Shiroi Kishi will execute what I think is an escape plan for getting {First Name} out of this place.
"We haven't talked about her in forever and we only have a matter of a few days to get her out." The pink haired boy-girl named Nqrse pointed out.
"Leave her..." said the Minister.
"What? Wait! Why?"
"What is eight hundred billion yen compared to a human life? We will be risking money, money that's valuable for our plans- we want bounty right? We will not risk our yen for a life."
"But her life is more valuable than any amount of yen, our best agent, one of the strongest in the mafia. And yet you want her gone? Do you know that if we get her back, she is smart enough to formulate a plan to get our money back yet destroy the Kuroi Kishi in the midst of it!?"
"Luz, what if it doesn't work?"
"So we just leave her to die?"
"Might as well. And you know, if she's strong enough, she could get out herself with no aid."
"You know what?" Luz said. "I know how Soraru can be like... merciless. And I'm not going to leave {First Name} in his ruthless hands. Come on, Naruse."
Nqrse added, "We'll get her back- even if we have to do it ourselves."
They started to walk away, "You boys are not going anywhere," announced the Minister. Then she made a signal.
Two other agents walked into the room and shot both Luz and Nqrse.
Their blood escaped scattered the floor in a rush of red as their bodies drained of all life.
So it wasn't an escape plan. It was a betrayal.
I watched in horror as their bodies were dragged away.
The stupid minister wanted no resolve, only money. She wanted {First Name} to die instead.
That's the price of the mafia.
I turned off the monitor. I needn't to watch anymore.
I walked to my living quarters and while over there, I sat down to think. Shouldn't I be happy they were to leave Bergman to die? No. The point was the ransom. For the money. I felt a strong pang of guilt in my chest. I really did feel sorry for the girl. But for her? Why do I feel sorry for her?
During my "interrogations" with her I actually made the time as a "get to know" session.
She seemed very suspicious and always tense, ready to fight. Somehow I got her to soften up... But I feel as if she made me do the same as well.
I kept on telling myself not to fall for the enemy, for it may be part of a plan, but I could tell by her eyes that she is just a confused and abandoned girl. A truly unique and striking hybrid... I told her to leave the job in the first place, but she never listened. She didn't know when to stop. She kept going. And she fell into the mafia's demise, their trap.
