Ashtons POV:

We walk into a place called Smoothie Hut and it looks like no one's here. Brendon jumps over the counter and stands behind the register.

"Hello ma'am, welcome to Smoothie Hut! What can I get ya?" He places his arm on the cash register and leans on one foot.

"Brendon, get back over here. You're going to get us kicked out."

Brendon looks up at the menu confused, "I'm sorry ma'am, I don't believe that's on the menu. If you could tell me what's in it I could try to make it for you."

"I'm serious Brendon. Stop fooling around." I look around to see if anyone was watching us.

"I don't think we have that either." He points to the menu behind him. "We have a menu, you know. So what can I fix you?" He smiles.

I roll my eyes at him. I might as well play along. It's not like he'll actually end up making anything, right? "If you insist, I'll take a mang-"

"Nope. Don't have that either. How 'bout I just make you something by surprise because you obviously don't know what a menu is." He rolls his eyes and goes over to the blenders and starts mixing fruits together. Is he seriously making a smoothie?

"What are you looking at? Go sit down and i'll bring you your drink." He stares me down until I walk to sit at a table in the corner of the cafe.

Sheesh. That little dweeb is going to get us in so much trouble. I'm just praying no one that works here walks in and sees him.

"Here's your smoothie made by yours truly." I look up and Brendon places a giant Styrofoam cup in front of me and sits down and takes a sip out of his own giant mug. I can't believe he actually made a smoothie. I stare at him in shock.

"What?"

"Is this your idea of getting things for free? Stealing stuff just because no one's around?"

He places his smoothie on the table and laughs, "Was that why you were freaking out earlier? Because you thought I was stealing? I work here, Ashton." He laughs harder.

"You work here?" I stare at him.

"Yes!" He slaps his hand on the table and keeps laughing.

"You should've told me that before you literally jumped over the counter and started taking my order!"

He laughs for a few more seconds then calms down. "Aren't you going to try your drink?"

I take a sip. "Not bad. What's in it?"

"Strawberries, bananas, my piss, some blueberries, and a few other things."

I quickly put my drink down and stare at him. "Did you say your piss?"

"Yeah! Its not called The Urienate for nothing." He smiles.

I all of a sudden feel sick. "I'll be right back." I hold my stomach and get up for the bathroom.

He grabs my arm, "I'm kidding! But if it's that bad you could've just thrown it away."

I let out a sigh of relief and sit back down. "No it's good. i'll drink it." I take another sip to reassure him.

We let a couple of moments of silence slip away until Brendon says, "So, I heard you already have a group of guys who are head over heels for you?" 

I shrug, "You could say that. Its more of a "I want to bang that girl so hard that she won't be able to walk properly the next day" thing."

"Yeah, Pete told me that he and Jack were competing for you. They're crazy. Don't ever let them trick you into dating them."

I nod, "I won't. I think I did a pretty good job of making it clear that I was not interested." I giggle.

He smiles at his smoothie then looks at me. "So have you made any friends yet?"

"Well, no. Considering I only made it through 1st period before you came running after me and pulled me out of school."

He laughs, "That's okay. You can hang out with me and my friends until you meet some other people."

"Really? You'd let me hang out with you even after I acted like a bitch to you all morning?"

"Yup." He smiles at me.

Wow. This is the first time somebody has actually treated me like a person. Maybe he has changed after all.

"So are you ready to go back to school?" He looks at me, waiting for an answer.

"Ready as i'll ever be."

We finish our smoothies then get in his car.

The car ride is silent except for the quiet sound of his radio playing in the background. When we get to the school we park then make our way around the back of the school so we can enter through the gym. Before we go inside we exchange numbers and he tells me where he and his friends sit at lunch.

"Okay so you all sit in the fifth row towards the back?"

"Yep." He smiles at me.

"Okay, sounds good." I smile back, "See ya in 15 minutes then. Might as well try to make the last ten minutes of history before lunch. Bye Brendon." I head towards the door.

"Hey, wait."

I turn around, "What?"

He tucks a couple loose hairs back into my hoodie. "We don't want you to get suspended on your first day, now do we?" He chuckles and opens the door for me.

"Thank you, kind young man." I nod in appreciation and he bows.

We silently walk inside. We walk as far as we can together before we have to go down separate hallways.

"See you in a little bit, Ash." He smiles and waves me off.
