Your parents gave you a videotape to watch knowing you will die in seven days and as your watching it you see Samara crawling out of the TV and hugged you instead of killing you. She then killed your parents and took you to her home knowing she has a new little brother.
Jennifer check (6 years old):
Your parents were part of a cult and they were going to sacrifice you. Until Jennifer shows up feeling angry that they would sacrifice a little 6 year old boy so she kills your parents and hugged you and took you home with her as her little brother.
